Re: Q of the D: Part II

The way i see things, is that I shouldnt regret anything because then I wouldnt be where I am today. For example, I sometimes regret choosing my profession and why I went to school. If i didnt though, I wouldn't have met one of my Bms who introduced me to FH.. so everything happens for a reason and I dont regret.

One of my biggest is being too much of a p*ssy and not majoring in voice. I took the easy way out and majoried in English, but music is really my first love.

i have to agree with a previous poster, i don't have regrets b/c my choices made me who i am today, or took me down the path i'm on. the big things in life that i sometimes question are the 2 years I spent with my ex, b/c DH and I could have/should have been together but I was too stupid to pick him over the jackass i was with.

those 2 years ******, but DH and I wouldn't be the same people without them.

on a smaller scale, I wish I was a better judge of character all around. I don't regret relationships i've had with anyone, everything is a learning experience, but I could definitely have done fine without a few of those people, and i could probobly have done better if i had befriended others that i pushed away...

student loans.

i got a full scholarship for my BA and i only had to pay for ONE year of my MA - I SHOULD have minimal student loans.

But, instead. . . I took my loans out IN CASH and used them to buy . . . .??? what? I used the excuse that I needed it for books, gas and things like that but it was in the THOUSANDS.

And now I will be paying them off until I am 51 years old. My KIDS will probably be out of college by then

tanning salon/sun damage

anything else would have changed the person that i am - but if i would have stayed out of tanning beds and the sun i would have less scars on my body and would have less of a chance for developing skin cancer - i should have listened to my mom - since she had melanoma....

I got accepted to the American University in Paris but turned it down to not be a financial burden on my parents... I probably could have gotten a loan or something cuz I really had wanted to go

Exactly.. I stood with my ex after he told me he cheated on me I was still with him when I met FH. I broke up with him 3 days after I met FH.. So had I broken up with him sooner, maybe I wouldnt have been looking to meet someone new. ANd then go for FH

mine would be not going away to school. I loved St. Joes, but always secretly wished I went away. I was accepted to Cortland, but turned it down b/c my ex didn't want me to go... oh the things we do when we are young and stupid!

I also agree with these posters. Life is too short to live with regrets. If I want to do something, I do it...if I screw up...at least I tried. I think everything happens for a reason. I wouldn't have met FH without things happening the way they did. We wouldn't have been ready for each other. I'm a big believer in Carpe Diem. Sieze the day... Live life big. Make it fun. Take chances. That's my motto....

Re: Q of the D: Part II

being in a relationship for years at a young age. I mean i had fun and did alot of things but at the same time i think i missed out on alot of things my single friends were doing. Go away on more trips with just friends, and many more things. Or i look at my Fh who did do alot of that and had this amazing time in his early 20's and i wish i did as much, not to compare but just to have those experiences for myself. I did go out and do things and yes more than some ppl but still different in a way. I felt he also held back in other ways too, not anything where he did it on purpose but just happened.

At the same time i learned alot about relationships from that experience. Honestly if i didnt go through that relationship i would've been VERY different with FH and maybe not done things the same way. I might've not been as understanding with his condition and not know how to make it work. So we might've not stayed together bc when i was first with my ex, i was quick to fight and argue and be a b*tch, i didnt know how to handle things properly. I became so sick and tired of living that way bc of going through it for years with my ex that i made sure with FH to not repeat the same cycle.

but i still wish i did more haha

ETA: i dont think its wrong for everybody to be in a relationship for a young age, just personally for me i look back and wish i didnt get into that.
