When attending a wedding does the gift you give the couple depend on the venue of the wedding or does it depend on your relationship with the person? How do you determine how much you spend on the gift?
MY Answer: My answer is pretty simple...I always try to give more than 100.00 It will never be lower. It really does not depend on the venue or my relationship with the couple. More than likely if I said yes to attend the wedding its someone I value. Weddings are very expensive and if I cannot afford to attend and bring a decent amount I will not go.

I've always determined it as a gift greater in value than the amount the couple spent on me as a guest, but that's prob. not the best way to approach a wedding gift.
Last wedding we went to, I gave $125.

What I give depends on my relationship with the couple getting married. But we never give less than $250.

always based on my relationship with the couple. nothing to do with time/date/venue of the wedding.

It depends on how much I can afford. When I was just out of school, I was looking for the cheapest thing on the registry. Now that I'm working, I can afford a nicer gift

It never dependes on the venue it depends on how close I am to the couple and my budget at the time. I try to go all out for the shower and give cash at the reception.

We usually give at least $300... more if we're closer.

We always try to cover at least the cost of our plate and then our relationship with the couple.

It depends on how well I know a couple and what I can afford at the time.
