~**~**~ QOTD 05/25 ~**~**~

Hey everyone! I am sooo excited to be BOTW! Thank you so much Jennifer (JAAMS)!!! So as I am fighting with LIW to get my BOTW avatar up, I'll start with my duties.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!!!! Since today is a holiday I figured I'd ask a question relating to holidays.

What is your favorite holiday to spend with FH and/or your best holiday memory with your FH?

For me, Christmas is not always the best of times in my family. I guess it's the stress but people are always fighting and not very 'holly and jolly.' I always ended up crying on Christmas each year. Ever since FH has been sharing Christmas with me it has been all good, just having someone there for me while all the crazy is going on. Being with him around these days is a nice recluse... it is like being with the calm of the storm. It means a lot and is a great memory, he has turned Christmas into a happy occasion.

I hope everyone has a great time on this BEAUTIFUL Memorial Day!

That's so weird that you asked this... because the first thing that I thought about this morning when I woke up was the holidays and how FH & I spend them!

My favorite holiday to spend with FH is Christmas Eve, hands down. My mom's cousin has a big party at his house, and it's just amazing. Last year FH played Santa Claus for the kids! Everyone is just so happy there, and it's a tradition that has actually lasted. I'm so nervous that there will come a year when they don't have it or something.

There is just so much family warmth there. My parents don't go, which is really a shame. They're such homebodies, but it would be nice to spend Christmas Eve with them too, since we usually do Christmas Day w/ FH's family.

Ummmm lemme get back to you when we've spent more time together on holidays lol...I guess right now its the Fourth of July since we actually did have a good time on that holiday...but most of the other ones have ended in drama.

Then again we've only spent one of each holiday together so there's time yet!

christmas... my family is italian and we do the feast of the seven fishes so its funny watching him on xmas eve trying new things (like octopus salad! lol!) and for christmas my family doesn't do anything so its nice to go to his grandmother's with him.. we joke around b/c his grandmother and aunt every year make two big bowls of ravioli, cheese and meat that we refer to as the 'christmas ravioli' .

Well, Christmas morning is when FH proposed right next to the Christmas tree so I think that will always make Christmas extra-special.

definitely christmas! i don't get to spend it with family because most of my family lives in Cali so it's always been sad for me. Ever since FH, i love Christmas because he comes from such a huge family and they all live together. it's so warm and cozy at his family's home.

No question - Christmas Eve!! I'm Italian so we always have the big '7 fish' dinner, and FH loves it and gets so excited for it - it's adorable!!! He's irish/german so he never had the experience before we got together.

I would have to say Christmas because it was the first holiday that we spent together when we started dating. As for my favorite memory, I'd have to say this past Christmas... For my Christmas gift, FH gave me an envelope with a homemade gift certificate to a horse and carriage ride in the city and dinner at serendipity for 2 days later... Two days later while we were going around central park on the horse and carriage ride he proposed! So that will always be my favorite holiday memory!

congrats on BOTW!!!

I think New Years eve is my fave for now. I never really had someone to spend it with until I met FH.

I think Xmas will become the fave holiday once we have a baby. For now we agrue about where to go since it is each of our fam's most important big celebration....

I love doing Christmas Eve with his family. I started doing xmas eve with his side because I don't go to my Dad's family anymore due to them being mean to my mom. I was really nervous our first xmas and thought I would cry bc I wanted my family but it was great, they treated me like gold (still do lol)..now every year I do it and look forward to it being just relaxing. We said that when we get our own place, we would like to host.

I have three (ok so maybe I'm cheating).

New Year's Eve
Superbowl Sunday
Big Summer BBQ days (i.e. Memorial Day, Labor Day)

Most of the 'real' holidays FH and I spend running around to different houses. So they're not as much fun as they could be.

But we usually host New Year's and always Superbowl (ok not really a holiday, but FH says it is) and always at least one big summer BBQ. Those are my favorite because we do the hosting and they're always filled with a combination of family and friends.

Im going to have to agree with all of you on Christmas. There is nothing like spending the day with your FH sitting by the christmas tree knowing that all the craziness in your family means notbhing bc he is right there with you.

I also love New Years Eve !!

My favorite holiday in general is Thanksgiving but my best memory with FH is actually Christmas because we have a christmas eve party at his cousins that we do every year and it has been a nice addition to my life...

FH and my birthday are four days apart in mid summer (he's August 4th and I'm August 8th) so he and I always combine the celebration and do something really special. The weather is almost always great (though HOT!) and we like to splurge and spend time doing something different.

However, this past Christmas season he popped the question in Key West, so I'll always hold a special place in my heart for palm trees decorated with ornaments and lights

Favorite holiday by far is MY birthday. He goes all out with all the surprises for the entire day.

After that, I would say July 4th. Our anniversary is every fourth of the month. So it's extra special to us!!!!

i think my fave is valentines

our first vday together was also the same month as our 6month anniversary, so we did a big thing to make it special. we both surprised each other with little trips. i planned our saturday day/night and he planned sunday day/night. everything was sooooo special!!!! for just 6 months of dating, i didnt know what to expect. but he went all out. it was a great memory!!

now, we still celebrate vday by doing something special or going to a nice restaurant. its just a really sweet holiday because its for US. we dont need to worry about whose house to go to or what to do. its just for us. i love it!
