Hey everyone! I am excited because today I am UNDER 500 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!! 499 more days woot woot!
So are you the type of bride/groom that wants the engagement process to last forever? Do you have the wedding itch so bad that you just want to elope now? Are you enjoying the engagement period while it lasts?
I think I am at a happy medium. I have been waiting to plan a wedding for my ENTIRE life and am having so much fun doing it, especially since FH is having a ball as well. BUT I am anxious for my wedding to be here! I think I would rather be married than engaged. I just want my wedding to be here already and I am still so far away! It's crazy to think that some of you girls/guys have only a few more months, but some (like me ) still have way over one year!

I've been engaged alot longer than many of the 2010 brides. We got engaged August 2007...we're getting married almost 3 years later- July 2010. Needless to say, I'm ready to get married NOW! I've been engaged for quite awhile.

Congrats for hitting the 400's!
I am enjoying this whole long engagement thing. I love it. there is no where to rush. I think we are having a perfect period between getting engaged and the wedding. we havent been that long together so this is great to get to know each other even better than before, get to know each other's families and enjoy being the center of attention for this time. I cant wait for the wedding to be here, but like that its still a yr away. does that makes sense? it makes better sense in my head

honestly, im ready to be married-i was ready 3 years ago, but i've always been the type of person who knows exactaly what they want, especially once i've made up my mind..i mean we had our reasons for being engaged almost 2 years, but i wish quite often that it would have been shorter

i think i go through phases of just wishing the wedding was here NOW and then phases of just enjoying being engaged and doing all the planning...so i guess i am a balance between both.

waay to much to do b4 we are married -- stll planning thiis wedding and then lookin for a house.
im okay with the timeframe. but since we go so slow, sometimes i wish we had more time. lol

i am def enjoying the engagement period...but there are times where i go crazy and i just want to get married now! i think part of that reason is bc when we first got engaged and we were talking bout weddings i told him that i didnt want this huge thing and i kinda wanted a destination wedding and he would not go for it...he wanted thins huge wedding with our whole family there and the whole 9 yards...so i think my 'i want to get married now' spasms come from having to plan this huge wedding that i didnt want to do in the first place..it usually only happens when im stressed lol but other than that im glad he talked me into the huge weddign bc im happy our family is gunna b there!

I love being engaged right now. There is such a small window between being someone's girlfriend (6 yrs) and being someone's wife (holy sh!T scary!!). i think i just love the attention and refering to FH as Fiance. We're both having so much fun planning right now I don't want it to end.
Although part of me looks at my 513 days to go countdown and wishes it was closer to 300.

I am soooo enjoying it!!! I like having a decently long engagement but I am also ready to be married already... minus not having aplace to live, but ya know in fantasy land yeah I'm ready!

I want it to hurry up and our date get here already...I am veyr OCD in the planning process and I have pretty much everything done already...I just want it to hurry up and be our wedding day!!

I'm enjoying being engaged. It's giving me something really really big to look forward to. That day is going to go by so fast so i'm going enjoy this time.

I am obsessed with planning. I wish we had like 4 months to go, though, because I really want to do things like buy shoes and a headpiece and make my DIY stuff. I don't really have a place to put things so it would be ridiculous to do some stuff this far in advance. I want to do it all NOWWWWWW!

To be honest, FH and I (mostly me, but he was on board with it too) really wanted to try to get married this year, 2009. But we got engaged at the end of December, and by the time we started looking at halls, everything was booked for late summer/early fall, and I didn't want a winter wedding. So we pushed it back to 2010 so I could have my spring/summer wedding.
I definitely could've pulled off the wedding in 6-8 months like I was hoping for, but I kind of like having a little more time to plan, that way I don't freak out so easily. The only downside is that I have more time to second-guess myself now
ETA: I've really been ready for a couple years now though. FH and I have been together over 9 years....so it's been in the works for a while

i hear u girl, i been engaged since oct.5, 2007. all this waiting is making me made. i wish i could get married tomorrow.

I love this planning process and being engaged but I do want to get married already. If we could get married in 6 months, I think that would be perfect so I could still plan and be engaged a little more, but not too much longer. O well...money money money

i think a year and a half is a good engagement period... by the time of the wedding we will have been engaged for 2 years and 1.5 months
i also think that the longer your engaged for the more money you spend

When I first got engaged, I didnt want to have my wedding in 2009 because I wanted to have a long engagement (I got engaged 12/2008) Now, I am kind of kicking myself in the behind because I can't wait! I look at my countdown all the time and i feel like its not moving!!! But im sure once the wedding is over I will be happy that I waited so long because there will be more time for all the little details.

As of right now, I'm really enjoying just being engaged. Maybe it's b/c I know it's only 11 months away. So I'm just trying to enjoy my time planning, and I know this sounds crazy, but I want to enjoy the little time I have left of living with my parents. We are really close and I know I'm going to cry the day I move out. So as much as I can't wait!! to marry FH, I know we have the rest of our lives to be married. So I'm trying to live in the 'now'.
