QOTD- 1/11/13

TGIF! The weekend is finally here! I am going into the city tonight with my mom to see a show. Every year for the past almost 10 years, my mom and I have bought a subscription to Roundabout Theater Company where we get tickets to about 5 shows each year. It's a really nice time, since I don't live with her anymore, especially now when we get to catch up on wedding planning details. Anyway, this made me think of today's question:

Is there something that you or your fiance doesn't enjoy doing (absolutely hates it) but does it just because they know you enjoy it?

**I'm a theater teacher and musical director at an arts school. Theater's been a huge part of my life since I was in middle school. I received a BA in Theater and am currently preparing students to go on the schools like LaGuardia, Murrow, Frank Sinatra, Professional Performing Arts, etc. Each year I direct the school's musical in the spring. Theater is my thing! When I met my FH he had never been to a Broadway show. I tried to make his first show special by bringing him to see Phantom of the Opera, this first show I ever saw when I was about 10. Well it was a very overwhelming experience for him. In retrospect I should have thought smaller. He's been to a bunch of shows with me lately including 39 Steps, In the Heights, Spring Awakening (a rough one for him). He's even bought tickets for me. He's been to most of my shows at school, but has missed a couple. He definitely does it for me but is not even in his top ten favorite things to do. I don't think 'going to see a show', Broadway or one of mine, even places at all.

Watching reality tv lol. I love it because it's so bad but FH hates it. He doesn't really watch it, but he'll just hang out on the couch with me while I do lol.

My FH likes certain reality shows but not most. I could watch reality all day. The one thing I find funny is that FH tells me how horrible my shows are and then I catch him watching them. The other night he told me to be quiet during the Bachelor. Haha

Musicals for my FH too. He's come around though. We started with Young Frankenstein on Broadway - which is a great first musical for a guy. We've since seen a few others. He does actually enjoy some of them now. Last year, he bought me tickets to see Mary Poppins on broadway. :)

I don't enjoy watching football ever weekend. I don't mind going out every now n then for a game, wings and beer. FH would love it if we went out for every Giants game and then some.
He did luck out this Sunday, he gets to go out while I go to the shower and meet all the wonderful ladies of LIW.

I think the one thing that he likes that I just cannot stand is fantasy football. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge sports fan and I watch every game, but this fantasy football stuff is crazy. For the whole NFL season, day and night he is glued to his phone looking at his 6+ fantasy teams. It drives me crazy because I think he's listening to me and it turns out he's making a trade in one of his leagues!

My fiancé is pretty easy going and a lot of my interests are his, however, I'm not as easy going haha.... My fiancé is a huge Dave Matthews fan (like he has been to 100 of their concerts) and a huge sports fan. I am not a fan of either, but have gone to 5 concerts since we have been together and I occasionally watch games with him (aka I sit with him hahaha)

He doesn't like drama shows but will watch them with me, b/c I am obsessed! Love L&O, Cold Case reruns, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist - the list goes on!

He loves any kind of bike with a motor and has dirtbikes, mini bikes, street bikes and the list goes on. I will sit outside and watch him do tricks up and down the block and video tape him when he asks although I hate it because I'm dealthy afraid he will injure himself. But he LOVES it.
