Hi ladies! Sorry today's question is so late! It's one of those days where you go into work (or in my case internship) early and leave late
Which leads me to today's question...How does wedding planning fit into your schedule?
I'm still a full time grad student, so I don't have a regular schedule which can get pretty hectic. Unfortunately, my weekends are devoted to school work which makes meeting with vendors difficult. It's also the reason I haven't tried on a wedding dress yet! Wedding planning is my perfect procrastination technique so I'll come on LI Weddings/Pintrest/Etsy whenever I don't want to do an assignment, particularly my dissertation! When you see me comment a lot on here, I'm most likely avoiding something! Most of my major planning is done over school breaks so I'm hoping to get a lot done over spring break and the summer.

I hear ya on being busy. Between being a nursing student taking 9 credits and working 20-25 hours a week it's really difficult to find time to do it. Luckily, that's part of the reason we chose to have a 2.5 year engagement so we didn't have to stress about everything. It's good right now because there's a lull in planning which makes it easier.

I am right there with you both! I work full-time and I'm a part time grad student so I've spent the last month trying to knock as many things off my wedding to-do list as possible. My grad classes started up again tonight so my wedding productivity is going to come to a screeching halt until about May, sadly! When we told everyone we were getting married in May 2014, they all said it was so far away -- but I need the whole year and a half to get everything done!

I work full time & due to FH's work/OT sched. a lot of the real planning up until now has been put on to the weekends. I spend a lot of my day during work researching (thank god I have a great boss lol) but most of the real planning is left to the weekends.

I work full time, 50 hours a week, but I do a TON of research online when I get home. On here, google searches, Pinterest, etsy, whatever. So by the time we actually go see a vendor I usually have a strong opinion already so we see less vendors overall which means less time wasted and more decisions made without ever leaving the house! Lol

I work 40+ hours a week so I do most of my research online. Luckily... MOST days I get out at 5 and I've had great luck with vendors making appointments for 6-630pm. We actually just got back from an appointment with a photographer that we had at 6pm (we were there for about an hour) and we have an appointment with another photographer tomorrow. My main goal is to get the three main vendors (venue, photographer and DJ) booked by march. So far so good! We have our venue booked and locked in... we're bringing the deposit to lock in the date with the DJ on monday... and after we view our options with the photographers... we're going to see if they'll work out a deal with the deposit amount. Shockingly the photographer deposits are the most expensive! Which is really what I didn't see coming!
FH also works FT and is in the process of building his web design business with his business partner... So like right now he's doing web stuff while I'm doing wedding stuff.
We communicate via e-mail and google docs mainly for appointments and stuff ike that.
By July... I hope to only have the 'details' to worry about.

Luckily I've got all the major vendors booked already. I lost a lot of momentum since the fall, though. Over the next 5 months, I'd like to also check off my wedding dress, limos and flowers. And then worry about the little things later on!

We got a lot done right after we got engaged. Right now, most of our planning is done while I'm at work ;) I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me to look for ideas for DIYs, reviews of vendors, etc. I work during the week, my FH works a lot of weekends, it's been tough. A lot of our venue and vendor meetings were done later at night. Luckily we don't have too much to worry about right now until we get to the little details in a few months down the line.

We did a lot of stuff right after we got engaged on the weekends when we weren't working. Now that I am unemployed I have all the time in the world to browse and buy! FH works FT so we save vendors for later in the evening and/or weekend.

I'm a nanny so I'm lucky enough to be able to do a lot of research during nap time! Vendor appointments have been limited to evenings and weekends though. Luckily I've been able to get a lot done within the last month.

Our photographer also had the largest deposit, didn't see it coming either!

We are both currently working in restaurants (he's a teacher currently looking for a teaching job), so it works out well for things such as meeting with venues and vendors, because we can go at like 11AM on a Tuesday if we want, when most people are at work.Unfortunately, because we are both currently job searching, and because we work at night and on weekends, it's hard to get to wedding expos, especially since we only have one night a week off together. Luckily, my mom and bridesmaids have graciously offered to go anywhere we need if either one or both of us can't go.

I feel all of you FH and I both work full time. He works a second job part time at night and I work as freelance makeup artist when I can. I also am a freelance makeup artist for MAC. We can only do appointments early on the weekends or sometimes late evening after work Tues or Thurs. So making appointments have been a little tough but so far everyone has been willing to arrange meetings when we can meet. I only have a little bit of time on the weekends and at night to do research. I just on lIW in the morning at work to scan the post for any advice I can get while I go through my work e-mails. Multitasking at its best. Thankfully I hired Cheeky Glam to help me with everything else :)

I work nights Tues ~ Sat... so I usually miss all of those expos and fun stuff going on!!! I also work a lot of overtime so I always make an appt before I go to a vendor for a Sunday or Monday and I make sure I dont pick up OT on that day =)

I fit wedding planning into all of my breaks from grad school. I just spent an entire month alternating internship hours and making wedding plans! I have to make vendor arrangements way ahead of time- since I do not currently live on LI- and rely on my family. My mom actually booked my DJ for me! I am looking forward to meeting with the photographer. While I get annoyed with all of the waiting, I really think I overall enjoy both the long engagement and making plans ahead of time. It keeps me from booking the first vendor I meet with!Ps you should all know I am writing this as I sit in the campus library haha.
