What personal touches are you adding to your wedding?

I love going to weddings and seeing a table set up with wedding pictures of the bride & groom's parents and grandparents, so I plan on doing that as well. I'm also thinking of having a memorial table (possibily on the same table) for family members who have passed away. I haven't thought this all the way through yet, but I might be wearing some of my grandmother's jewelry and maybe have a bouquet charm.

In terms of the reception - for some reason I'm obsessed with personalized cocktail napkins! There's just something about them We're also considering a coffee theme haha. Aside from me being obsessed with coffee, FH and I had our first date at a Starbucks and will sometimes have little coffee dates and just spend time together in coffee shops. We found coffee STD magnets, maybe have coffee beans in a small glass jar with votives on top, have a coffee bar at dessert, and have coffee favors. I'm still playing with the idea, but it's what I got so far!

I love the wedding photos, but FHs parents are divorced and well that rules that out.

I plan on doing a memorial charm on my bouquet, cocktail napkins, matchbooks,i'd love to have a cigar roller & steel drum band. I havent thought this all the way through because I am still working on the venue situation.

AH! SO many personalized little things are going into my wedding!

- I'm doing a brooch BoK. My mom is going to include a poem in my shower card 'Help make Katie's special day... Bring a brooch for her bouquet' or something along those lines.

- Guys are NOT wearing boutonnieres. They will have little superhero action figures pinned to them instead.

-My best friend/MOH's little sister (who may as well be my little sister) is playing guitar as we all walk down the aisle. Think like.. acoustic White Stripes, Metallica, Iron Maiden... that kinda stuff.

-I want to do something cute with the table numbers... But I haven't decided yet on that.

Edited: I hit the 'Submit' button too quickly!

I love all of the little coffee details you're planning! too cute

FH and I are Mets fans, so we want to include a few Mets things here and there to make it 'us.' It's not our theme though.

Not sure what else yet....

I love the ideas! I wish I could do old wedding pictures but my parents just recently got divorced it's too bad, it would have been cute.

FH and I had our first date at Starbucks too! The coffee idea is SO cute!!!!

Love the coffee ideas!! Very cute personal touch!

Every year for our anniversary I make photo books (like on an online website) and give FH a book of our previous 12 months together-big moments, vacations, holidays, parties, moments at home. I title them by 'volume,' so first year was 'volume one' and so on. I was thinking of displaying our anniversary books on a table somewhere but I'm not sure yet

Personal touches we will be adding are in memory of FH's mother who passed away last January from Breast Cancer. We will have a memory candle lit on our table the whole night for her and will also be incorporating a video montage of her on the flat screen with a special song to have a nice, heartfelt moment.

We are still in the process of figuring all of this out but my future father in law was in a band when he was younger and had a really cool song. We are planning on asking our band to learn the song so they can play it during the reception!

These are all so cute! We haven't really gotten in deep to planning, but I think I want to make a wooden sign for the entrance to our ceremony deck saying 'Today, as two families become one, we ask you to choose a seat not a side' and I will be giving out sunglasses as our 'place cards' with a poem I have yet to write, something about being blinded by our love...bahhahaha I'm so cheesy!

We're also thinking about having a bonfire after party on the beach. With a guitar player, signature drinks and s'mores!

Instead of table numbers, we're doing names of places that mean something to our relationship and then an explanation of it underneath. For example, a guest will pick up their escort card that says 'London' on it- they go to the table and framed on the table it will say London on top and then a paragraph underneath of what it means to us. Its personal and a conversation starter for our guests!

Thank you!! I've been looking into these little bags as favors. I saw a few with different sayings but I didn't see the 'Love is Brewing' one before. Too cute! I looked on etsy but they're surprisingly expensive. I'm going to google them and see what comes up.

The only personal touch we added so far was hiring a smooth jazz band for cocktail hour! My father loooooves smooth jazz buy most bands around here do regular jazz. We're surprising him with the smooth jazz since he helped us with the wedding so much!
