QOTD | 10.13.13
My final question!! I'm traveling from LI to Staten Island for the day then back to jersey early tis evening so I'll post the new BOTW later on today
How has being engaged changed your relationship with FH? Have things changed with your family or your future in laws?
Being engaged (and moving in) with FH has really made me realize how the rest of my life will be with him. Obviously while dating I considered how our future would be but getting engaged made it so real. I think my relationship with my parents changed a bit. While they have known that their 29 year old daughter is a grown woman, getting engaged seem to allow them to let go to the idea that I'd be home forever. Very bittersweet. My fils have gotten so much closer, especially once our fAmiles met each other and got to bond. Being engaged has been so fun (and thankfully drama free); it makes me very excited to see how my life will change once we're married

FH and already felt married and getting engaged didn't change our relationship, but I noticed that it really changed how other people saw our relationship. There's just something more legitimate sounding about saying my fiance vs. my boyfriend. I used to get upset that people didn't seem to take our relationship seriously when I called him my boyfriend even though we had been together for a very long time. I found myself having to say things like 'my boyfriend of five years' to get the point across that it wasn't a fling. I can't wait to call him my husband so that our relationship titles finally reflect how we really feel!
This is exactly how I feel, too!

FH and I have been living together for 2 years so I didn't think much would change but 5 days after we were engaged FH ended up in the hospital for 7 days. He's ok now thankfully but he has some heart issues. I think that made us realize that it's me and him now and it made us both realize how much we needed each other. I feel even closer to him now than ever before and we know each other 20 years. Not to sound cheesy but Love really is a beautiful thing.

We have felt married for a long time now but now it feels more real. It has brought us closer and made for new exciting moments....but I'm looking forward to the real deal. Engagement almost feels like purgatory. The wedding is in sight but you're not quite there yet lol.

This is so true! 'Boyfriend' never seemed to do him justice.
