Hi everyone! So as I was contemplating my question for today, I got looking at my engagement ring and realized how much I love it and can't live without it! So this leads me to my QOTD:
For your engagement ring, were you very involved with how it would look or did you leave it up to your FH, FH's how did you handle it??? Post a picture if you can!
I wasn't very involved in choosing my e-ring. I had told FH that I wanted either round stone or princess cut. It had to be either white gold or platinum since I don't wear yellow gold. I never told him how many stones or anything like that. I just gave him the basics. He sold his BMW to buy my ring so when he was in the process of selling the car he was looking at rings on-line, in stores and in magazines. He went to Kay jewelers the day he sold the car and went looking for my ring. He found it right in the case and it was the last one they had of this ring! So it was meant to be! I can't believe how well he did picking it out!
i actually havent gotten my ring back yet from the jeweler but what we did was take my grandmothers two 1/4k diamonds that she had given me a long time ago and set them as side stones and my wedding band is going to be made from the five diamonds from my other grandmothers ring that my grandfather gave me when she passed away. so this way it is meaningful, (and a heck of a lot cheaper!)

My fiance knew that I wanted a Tacori ring. I likes specifically 3 -everytime I saw them in a magazine I would pt to the 3 of them....sooo he took things out of each Ring and made my ring

I gave FH a general idea of what i wanted - basically by making him sit oon the computer and looking at different styles. My mom's jeweler had this ring that i totally felll in love with and I sent him a pic of it to see if he can find it anywhere or buy it from my mom's jeweler or even find anything remotely close to it. Well he ended up getting it replicated and bam - there's my ring!!! exactly what i wanted!!!!!
He picked up hints here and there (although, there were not many, just things like, platinum, graduated diamonds on the band etc.). He mentioned that hadn't I given him hints throughout, it would have been a huge solitare. But i love my ring.

i left pictures of my dream ring all over the place lol - i don't think there was a day he went on the computer when it wasn't sitting on the screen
he brought the picture to a jeweler and had them make that exact ring, so i got my dream ring and couldn't be happier!
I'll post a pic later today when im hanging at my moms. BUT! FH and I actually picked out the ring seperately. He went to a store bought it. I went online and picked it out and showed my mom and I was like, THAT is the ring i want . ITs not gaudy its small and its very me. My mom didnt tell him ANYTHING. He propsed I looked at the ring and Im like How did you know?! And he's like because I know you.

I said emerald cut and baguette and he never let those 2 things go. I knew I always wanted an emerald cut stone so that was a given. I printed out a ton of info for him and said 'here you go - just go w/ it'
In the end he picked out a ring - but about a week before he was going to pick it up I dropped the words 'antique setting.' He went back to the guy asked if any of the ones he picked fit that and he was told 'absolutely not' so he had to start from scratch. I am glad he did b/c I am totally amazed by what he picked out.

I had nothing to do with my rin, but FH did a fabulous job. I absolutely love it!

FH actualy enlisted the help of FSIL to find out what kind of ring I wanted. We had a girl's sleep over at her her apartment and when I showed up they were on BlueNile.com building engagement rings for each other 'just cause they felt like it'. It wasn't too off the wall because FBIL had just proposed to his wife not too long before that and everyone has weddings on the brain. So after they built theirs, they ask me to build what kind of ring I wanted, which was simple. I wanted just a round cut stone, on a plain platinum band. FSIL delievered the info to FH and and he purchased the ring I love it!

I wasn't very involved. I know I mentioned different things I like in conversation but I never flat out told him what I wanted. After he proposed he pulled a little piece of paper out of his wallet and said it was his 'cheat sheet' haha he had been writing down every little detail I mentioned about my e-ring! He actually went to buy it with my brother, and it's PERFECT!!!

FH was asking me what type of ring I like. I told him I LOVE Tiffany's Classic Solitaire ring with the knife edge band. We were looking at diff designs online and in pics and then he just totally stopped talking about it for months LOL! I was thinking oh boy either he isint ready or maybe he bought it already haha... Then on the most random day...
I got this! PERFECT!!!! I am obsessed with it and FH LoL
MY FH picked it out on his own, I had no idea, and we never even talked about getting married. Ever. LOL I think he did a fabulous job!!! I love my ring, it is gorgeous!!!
FH picked it out all by himself!!! The only instructions I gave him were that it had to fit under my gloves at work (so nothing set up high). He did a perfet job! I love how my setting is so different from most I've seen!
Sorry for the crappy pic, its got 4 little diamonds channel set on each side that you really can't see very well. ETA there are better ones in my album!
I am so in love with my engagement ring. FH did it all on his own (well with his sister and her husband). The center stone was his mothers so this ring means more to me than anything I have ever gotten in my life. Tearing up as we speak.
