*******QOTD 10.13.09*******

I was talking to my co-worker yesterday and she was telling me that there are certain topics her and her boyfriend just don't discuss. That they are off limits or too disgusting. Which leads to this question.

******Are there any topics that you and FH just don't talk about whether it be physically or emotionally?*****

FH says we are sometimes too open. He tells me about his gas issues and I talk too openly about how my cramps are trying to kill me and I'm bleeding like a sive. It wasn't always like that in the beginning we were not like that but over the last 5 years it has evolved into there are no taboo topics. Emotionally I try not to talk about his family or vice versa bc that is a sore subject but we still do it. We are an old married couple and we haven't even said 'I Do' yet.

awesome question!!!!!

actually, in the beginning of our relationship, this was FHs BIGGEST downfal...he was 100% CLOSED OFF and im 100% open....so that was hard...

over the years, he has opened up so much so now we talk about basically anything and everything!!

i love that about him now!

We talk about whatever we have to, when we have to. It's how we've stayed so strong after so long.

I'm like an open book. I tell FH everything. There is really nothing I can think of that he doesn't know... he on the other hand keeps stuff he finds embarassing to himself (I posted something about that a week or so ago). He's getting better though!!!!!

we talk about pretty much everything, i think!
One of our first dates, we talked about Religion and IF we were to work out how we would deal with that - since i'm catholic (from a very catholic family) & he's baptist (his dads a baptist minister even)...
The only topic that's a little not so easy to discuss is ex's - he knows who mine are & how long we dated & i know his too - but thats really the extent of it... Everything else is fair game!

great question!

Me + Toilet = off limits. As far as he's concerned, I do not use the bathroom. He's just weird about bathroom stuff, with anyone! Can't wait til he has to change diapers!

Other than that, we talk about evvvvvvverything.

Your questions ROCK

When we first started seeing each other, I kept up a few boundaries emotionally. I tend to do that in order to protect myself. He, on the other hand, was pretty much an open book.
It wasn't long before I knew I could be 100% open with him - only a few months into the relationship. Once that happened, we could talk about anything and everything.

We pretty much talk about everything and anything we want to and need to talk about. There's nothing that we say, oh, no, we can't talk about this.

One of the main things that attracted me to my FH was his honesty. Nothing is off limits with us. Communication is key. Weather good or bad.......all must be dislosed. I'm the type that always speaks my mind. Sometimes it gets me in hot water, that's just part of being honest. You'll always know where I'm coming from on any issue & FH is the same way. He tends to be a bit more tactful & diplomatic than me. He and I both will never work around an issue with anyone,we always meet it head on, than let the chips fall where they may.

absolutely not
we have a very open relationship and honestly believe that honesty and being able to discuss everything under the sun is the best way

FH was very closed off (me=open book) but we talk about anything now. The bathroom this was tough at first but with my belly issues i told him he had to get over it!
He still prefers not to talk about past relationships... we both know of the ex's but he feel strongly that they are in the past and there is no reason for us to talk about them, so for the most part we don't unless we have to.
