When I first got engaged a lot of my ideas have stayed the same such as the color of my bm dresses (we wanted a wedding around christmas so i chose red), i still want the same cp, bo-k's, favors, etc. However, the one thing I changed my mind on was going from getting two limos for the bridal party to having one limo bus for all of them! I did not like the way they looked at first and then slowly started to like them. When we went to Camelot and saw the limo bus, i loved it and I figured the bridal party would also have the best time in it!
So here is the question....
Throughout the wedding planning what ideas have you kept, and what ideas have changed? What made you change your mind as well?

I orginally wanted low flowers- now I want high with candles. The room is pretty by itself but now I want colored lighting. I also have a string quartet but I want a steel drum..

Always thought I would do pink dresses, I am a pink girl, until I was at my photographers and saw a photo of turquoise dresses with pink flowers and fell in love with the colors. So that is the first thing that changed. Then I was all set to do a more casual beachy themed wedding at Lands End with a shell cake and cocktail length dresses. But then I saw two shell cakes in under a month this summer and I decided I didn't want something so done. So that changed the whole tune and I am now going with an elegant black tie optional affair with a slight beach tone to it. So I guess it changed a lot.

well, i went through about 10 different color schemes because i'm totally indecisive, but the yellow flowers always stayed constant.

I was not one of those girls who had a plan in my head starting at an early age. A few months before we actually got engaged, I stumbled upon this site and thats when I was introduced to so many ideas. And while I am glad i did, I realize now that with our budget I had to cut back on those little things I had wanted.
FH created a file on his laptop that was 'Sheila's Wedding'. In it I had pasted so many pictures of my favorite flowers, centerpeices, color schemes, ideas, etc. I look back on my folder now and I see how much I eliminated. A while back, I saw the candy bar idea and loved it but it became such an involved process and in the end decided to do away with it. I'm glad I did. I havent been dealing with stress easily lately, and I know that would have been one more thing for me to go nuts over.
I wanted to have the seafood boat at the CH and a single wild flower at each place setting sticking out of the napkins but cost got in the way of that. I also wanted pocketfold invites but when we got the quote on those (I didnt want to DIY) we realized we had to cut corners where we could. And we saved a lot doing so.
I still feel like I'll have a great day in spite of all I did away with though.
