Good Morning Ladies! Thanks again Roz for choosing me!!
For my first QOTD I am going to ask you all to use your imagination a bit... it's Monday after all...
Rewind your life a little bit back to right after you got engaged. You're trying to decide on an RH. Your parents/FH's parents/your sugar daddy/whoever comes to you and says 'we'd like to pay for you to have a destination wedding, we'll cover the whole bill, wherever you want!'
So.... IF you had to decide between a fully-paid destination wedding (not including your guests airfare) ... ...And... Having your wedding at home/wherever you're having it, but paying for it yourselves... just you and FH footing the bill...
Which would you choose, and WHY? And if you pick destination, tell us where!!
My answer: I'd take the destination wedding in a HEARTBEAT. Not so much anything to do with having it fully paid for, but me and FH are both very shy in groups, neither of us like attention, and i feel like half of my guest list is people I don't really know, which makes it even more uncomfortable. As to the destination, Italy - hands down.

We'd probably still do it here, as best we could. Most of our friends wouldn't be able to afford to go to a destination wedding, considering airfare and hotel prices. And I don't think many people in our extended families would go either. So to me, what's the point of doing it like that, if there's no one there to share it with

I'd DEFINITELY take the destination wedding...because if we don't have to shell out a single dime for it, then we can shell out the money to help our guests get there!!!

Does my home country, Israel, counts? That's where I originally wanted it... So I would have gladly let that person pay for that
If it doesn't, I would choose to stay here. Not into the destination thing. A lot of people that I really want to be at my wedding, I know for sure wouldn't be able to come, so there is really no point. Besides, I really want to whole big party thing. Which honestly comparing to my beliefs up to the moment I got engaged is a total 180 opposite. Still don't know what changed

FH and I actually really wanted a destination wedding. We had already started looking into it, calling travel agents etc when we told my grandmother. Her response was
'Oh, by destination, did you mean Queens?'
So we ended up getting married here.
Needless to say, we'd take the destination wedding in a heartbeat! We could always do a small party when we got home, but we'd probably already be married by now!!!

personally a desitination wedding is not for me...so if I had no other choice I would pay for my own wedding here in LI. I am not a beach person, nor a big traveler. And I want all 200 people there that I am inviting and I cant if I have a distination wedding

I would still have it here bc in the end this is what I really want to have all of our family and friends with us on our special day.

As much as I love the thought of a destination weddding, I think I would prefer to keep it traditional and get married in a church, etc.

I'd take the destination wedding in a split second!!!
FH and I were considering a destination wedding for a few minutes and if it was going to be destination, it would probably be in Greece because he needs to be married in a Greek church. No issues from me! My Mom even suggested it! How nice would that be?? Married on a Greek Island?!?!

I would definitely still have it here. I'm too traditional for a destination wedding and maybe alittle bit spoiled. I wouldn't want to give up the 300 person big italian over-the-top wedding i always imagined. Plus, FH hates sand

destination wedding-hands down.
we actually were going to have the wedding in St. Thomas-just immediate fam and friends (whoever wanted to come) the ceremony would have been at a gorg hotel and dinner to follow. We were almost done with planning it and then decided to get married in a church and do it on long island. Congrats on botw.

I would do it in a HEARTBEAT as well... I would prefer to do that if I could guarantee that everyone i want there would be there...
I would get the dress I really want and have it on the beach and then party the night away...

fh's family actually wanted us to get married in Mexico or Vegas and would've probably given us more money towards the wedding if we had decided to do this. However, we wanted all of our family and friends to be part of our day and that could only happen if we did the wedding locally. I always dreamed of a big wedding so I wasn't willing to give that up.

Great ques and Congrats!!!
FH & I seriously considered a destination wedding b/f we actually got engaged. FH wanted to married in the church from his Grandmother's village in Italy. We then decided we would tour Italy and Sicily on our HM. Two things stopped us from do this 1....was that A LOT of our best friends and family would not be able to make the trip so then we considered having a reception when we got back but then thought that would be too $$ and we would rather put it towards a house.
2.....we realized after a few off hand comments from FMIL, she was considering joining us on our HM (I kid you not) since she was already in Italy and it has been her dream for her family to go on vacation together in Italy.
So w/that said we are not doing that BUT if we had someone footing the bill than yes we would def do it!!!! That way we could use our $$$ to fly certain ppl over.

Good question... I would opt to have it here and pay for it. We thought about the destination wedding, but a lot of our VIPs wouldn't have been there so it made the decision easy. We want them there with us.
