What do you believe it means to love someone unconditionally? Has there been obstacles in your relationship with fh that you both have overcome together? If so what were they? Do you believe that this or these obstacles have made you a stronger couple?
For me it was when I was diagnosed with MS. FH shared this story with Rev Deb and it made me cry when we were in her office. FH told Rev Deb, that he believed that my family was unsure of his stand on the matter and gave him the option to leave many times. I am sure it was not an easy thing for him to swallow, that my health is unpredictable and that he may have to take care of me as we get older. I don't know how well I would be able to take this news. So, I would have to say that loving someone unconditionally means loving that person through all the changes life throws at them.

For me, loving someone unconditionally means you love them despite any obstacles, any health issues, any family issues and no matter your love just doesn't waiver.
My story: I was diagnosed with a disease called sarcoidosis...it's relatively rare with no known causes and no cure. (Basically it's a disease that creates these granulomas to lump together in any muscle or organ such as lungs, eyes, brain, heart, skin, ANYTHING which can cause bad lungs, blindness, even death) Leading up to the diagnosis I underwent a battery of tests and was told that doctors thought I had cancer twice. After thoracic surgery (where they removed lumps in my lung and some lymph nodes) they diagnosed me and I have since had to undergo various medical procedures, endless doctor appointments etc... Obviously this is a lot to handle for a person and my mental health suffered causing me to be depressed which led to weight gain etc.. etc... Anyway, FH remains my constant. He is optimistic and supportive. He doesn't care if the disease spreads to other organs making me sicker. He loves me for me and someone who can still love you admist all this (and some other issues we've had to deal with in our relationship) that is someone who will unconditionally be there. For this, I love him more than anything - to see how steadfast he is about our relationship makes me feel like we can conquer anything as long as we have each other.
MY MOTHER HAS IT TOO!!! ( my family is full of auto immune diseases) you got a good FH !!! there is hope honey- my mom has been doing well- the tumors in her lungs have shrunk and my daddy loves her---- so keep on keeping on!! **hugs**

My heart and prayers go out to you!!! I can't imagine how that has been, it's amazing that your FH stands by you through all this!

Can I just say that this is an AAAMMMAAAAAAZING thread?
I'm sitting here crying. I want to write my response when I get home and have time to really think. Just wanted to say that we are some lucky ladies.

I belive that loveing someone unconditionally i loving them no matter what....u may not always like the person but i know you always love them
My FH and I have had our share of ups and downs but i think the worse was when i found out i was pregnant about 2 weeks after we broke up...he wouldnt even answer the phoine when i called so i had to track him down at a bar and tell him there
flashforward 2 year later everythign thankfully worked out, we obviously got back together but it was a very hard time, a time that took us a long time to get over the both us
i would of had my son either way because of personally reasons but im glad we got our fairy tale ending

Loving someone unconditionally means that you love them no matter what. Especially when they are at their lowest, sickest, etc...
I have to say that Fh was so wonderful when I had my surgery last summer. He made me food, showered me, dressed me,etc... He was like my mom. LOL He also doesn't judge me especially when I have too much to drink and i'm very sick the next day He takes care of me the same way even though it was my own fault how I got there.

Re: QOTD 10/6/10
Early on in our relationship FH had a big problem with his teeth. He didn't have dental insurance so he would go to the emergency room a lot because the pain was so bad. I eventually got him an appointment with my dentist who did the work for him and allows him to pay on payment plan. When he first went to the dentist he had a nasty infection in his tooth which also gave him a high fever. The dentist asked if he lived alone and he said yes and dentist told him I wouldnt recommend you staying by yourself because with this infection and fever you may not wake up. FH stayed at my house that night and I kept an eye on him all night to make sure he was still breathing and ok. During the night the fever broke but he was so happy and amazed that I would do that for him.
Also I have been struggling with severe anxiety and panic attacks. FH will do anything during one of my attacks to help me feel better.
We both love each other unconditionally and there is no one else out there for me!

First let me just say, I love your questions this week. They really make me think....
To love someone unconditionally is to love them in good times, bad, love all their flaws, forgive their mistakes, etc.
FH and I have been together for 6 years this month and we have been through hell and back. I will be the first to say that Love conquered it all. We met when I was with someone else and I realized I cared for someone else and got out of my relationship. We had a rocky start, but managed to get through it. FH and I broke up a few times, but always found our way back to each other. We were young and had a lot to learn, but love taught us how to be patient, have faith in one another and trust that love will guide the way. We moved together 4 years ago and had a rough patch getting used to living together. We had to learn to deal with each other's pet peeves and share our personal space together. Two years ago, we had a baby boy together and once again it was a huge step for us. I was sad to think that since he had it all now, he would never want to marry me and I was hurt that I would never get my fairytale ending... I can go on and on, but my point is, we had many curve balls thrown at us, but in the end, it was the unconditional love that brought us here today.

Re: QOTD 10/6/10
Last year was the worst by far. we went through a really tough time! We bought my ring in April, flew to Alaska and FH asked my dad for my hand in marraige. Then in June I lost my job. FH completely gave up on me. I had temp job after temp job but never found a full time job. FH got really upset and it was a long year. Then on October FH had a mental break down and his mom and I got in a huge fight. She called me the devil and said I was ruining FH's life because I was putting him into debt. We almost ended things but we decided to take a 2 week break to figure things out. Needless to say FH came to me after the time and suprised me at my roller derby game. It was the most spectacular moment of my life. Anyhow i learned over that time that if I was going to be with FH I had to take him with all of his faults and with his Psycho family. I had to take the good with the bad. FH has been a lot more understanding since. He takes me with my faults and we are in a much better place. We learned to love each other with our faults not dispite them!

Loving FH unconditionally means dealing with his bad points and him dealing with mine.
Both of our brother's have problems--his brother got in a car accident when he was 17 and has a traumatic brain injury and we believe my brother has pdd (autism) and are currently in the process of having him tested.
We just support each other through all of the tough things that go along with that.
that must be tough!!!
