Good Morning Ladies, hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It was great to meet all of you at the G2G and I look forward to meeting the rest of you at the next one hopefully.
I feel like a topic always on this board is how we don't like people saying '2010 is so far away', 'why so long?' and so on.
So it just leads me to be more curious why everyone is waiting til 2010?
We are waiting til 2010 because I am an extremely anal person and need to have everything 'perfect' I wanted to be able to see all the vendors and all the RH and not have to worry that I might not be able to get a specific vendors because I was under a time crunch since I only wanted the month of June for my wedding.
Then on a more nutty note I really wanted my niece to be able to walk down the aisle as our flowergirl and since she was only 2 months when we got engaged we figured we would wait til 2010 when she is 2. She is our only niece and pride and joy so we both could not imagine her not in our wedding party.

I guess we are waiting because we didn't want to have to rush to plan a wedding for 2009. We knew we wanted to get married in the spring so that wouldn't really have worked. I get to take my time and relax more planning a 2010 wedding

for us it was pretty much teh fact that we couldnt afford it to be any earlier. if we had it my way we'd be gettin married this february

well originially we wanted nov 2009 and when we were looking most places were still charging a premium in November. So my parents gave me a choice.....either get married in Nov09 and all they can pay for is the RH or get married in Jan10 and they pay for like 75% of things. We chose Jan 2010 this way we can buy a house and don't have to worry too much about paying for stuff.

we are waiting till 2010 because I am not going to finish my masters until june 2009 and we agreed to both be done with school (for now) before we got married. I just dont want to have to worry about graduation requirements at the same time i have to worry about did I pay all the vendors. This way I have 6 months after graduation to focus on nothing but the wedding. I am a little OCD so everything has to be just right for me not to be insane lol. Plus its an excuse for us to got out of cold ny in february to some place nice and warm!

We really wanted a Sept Wedding and we knew I really couldnt afford what we wanted it in a year. So we are having a 2 year engagement. This way I can have everything we want, no cut backs, and have a wonderful honeymoon too.

we actually have a bunch of reasons as to why we are waiting til 2010. 1. i am graduating with my masters in may 2. fall 09 will be my first year teaching and i think it would be a lot to get married in the mix of all that 3. we wanted to get married in the summer so we can go on a longer honeymoon right after the wedding 4. we dont live together so we need the time to save for a house 5. if we got married summer 09 it would only have been a 1 year engagement and definitely not enough time to save and plan enough (for my OCD liking)
and i hate when people say ooo 2010 is sooo far!!! why are you waiting so long???

I wanted to get married in Sept of 09 but FH took to long to propose. So I changed my mind to Dec and FH said no way so the next month closest to now that we agreed on was March of 2010

FH wanted to wait 2 years before we got married so that we could afford to pay for the wedding and buy a house, i like the fact of having so much time to plan so that i'm not a crazy mess

FH wanted to finish school, and I wanted enough time for us to save and buy a place to live. HE wanted to get married in Oct of 2009, but when he saw how expensive it was we decided on March 2010.

money was def an issue. we want to try and buy a condo this summer and it would have been too much to plan a wedding at the same time.

I am paying off my school loan and FH is saving for the wedding. We wanted to wait until 2010 so that we could start our marriage debt free.

We are waiting because we have to save up and if we scheduled the wedding in 2009 we would never be able to save up.

we r waiting until 2010 for many reasons. some include:
1. i will be graduating in may 2009. 2. i would like to have a full time position before getting married. 3. my sister will be applying for nursing school in may 2009 & i need her help with everything wedding related. 4. i am very crazy about even numbers & 2009 is an odd number. 5. we will be together 10 years in 2010 & i think its great to get married after our 10 year anniversary.

Mostly financial. I didnt want to kill my parents with having to pay for the reception in 1 year. And since we are paying for all the vendors, I wanted to give ourselves 2 years to come up with all the money and not have to live on austerity.
