Good morning. Today is my last QOTD. Thanks again to Sheena for making me bride of the week.
Now that you have planned most of your vendors, what advice can you give the late 2010, 2011 and 2012 brides and grooms to help make decisions?
I think the best advice I can give is to make sure you go with questions that you want to ask. That way you can ask similiar questions to the same type of vendors. I also think it is important to go with your gut feeling about a vendor good or bad.
I will post the new BOTW later.
Have a great day!

I would say not to overload yourself with getting estimates. Get some, but just like someone said, NEGOTIATE!!!
Try to set aside at least one day each month that is DATE DAY. Seriously, use that day to be the couple that got you to the engaged part of your relationship.
Oh, never go to bed mad...I'm still working on that.
Good luck folks!!

My advice would be to not let people tell you it's too early to book an in-demand vendor. I felt a little silly booking my photographer a year and 6 months before my wedding, but she told me yesterday that she has gotten so many calls for my date, way in advance, and had to turn down a bunch of people - for a random Friday in August that is still 8 months away. So, while it's good to get pricing comparisons and everything, if you have your heart set on a vendor don't delay too long.
Also to enjoy your engagement and don't let little things bother you, just do what works for you and your fiancee and try to leave the rest of the nonsense out of your mind.

My advice would be to meet with as many vendors as possible before making a decision, take notes and pictures if applicable and be willing to walk away to think about your options. Also... do not compromise on customer service. That in the end will be the cause of any stress.

hm...don't rush (especially when it comes to ordering your dress), establish a budget and figure out early on if you are/are not receiving any financial help from family, negotiate, make sure everything you want is stated in your contract (never assume), think long and hard about the people you want in your bridal party (there tends to be a lot of drama at one point so don't rush by asking them right away), and don't let family drama ruin your big day!!

Planned most of my vendors....that's a good one!!!!
I thought the same thing, lol!!!
Everyone says 'don't rush' but I took 6 months to pick out a dress and working on 3 months for BM dresses... it is becoming very painful! So I say, don't give yourself too many options! There is always something different out there, just make a decision and go with it! (and try not to spend hours on end second guessing yourself!)
Now, if I can only take my own advice!!

Dont Rush into booking vendors... know what you what and what you dont want or may not be into.. shop around ask the vendor what they can offer you negotiate with EVERY vendor!!!! dont be afraid to tell them you dont like something or you heard a neg review and ask for their feedback!!
as far as dresses TRY N EVERY AND ANY dress!!! your always going to have a vision of what dress you want or what style you like but when u get to the store and start trying it on it may not be flattering or the one! always try on anything even if you hate it on the hanger.
Enjoy your engagement dont get caught up in keeping up with all the planning and everything remember its about you and him!!

OK my only regret was with some of the vendors I picked so this is something that I'm willing to crash to answer.
Do not go by what other brides say if their weddings have not actually happened yet! It's great to get all these recommendations through LIW and other friends who are engaged but seriously, talk to the brides whose weddings have already happened and read reviews. Everyone loves their vendors before their wedding and hopefully after but that isn't always the case.
