QOTD - 11/30/08

so my last question of the day is:

What is one holiday tradition that you & FH have started that you hope continues during your marriage?

for the past 3 years, we have hosted thanksgiving out our apartment with FH cooking the entire meal. even though it takes a week to prepare & a week of cleaning up after, i hope we continue with this tradition.

probably just decorating the house together and doing the christmas tree together. that was always a tradition in my family to make a night out of it so i plan to keep doing things like that with fh and our kids. and then we always do christmas eve at my parent's house and all the family comes

we havent really started anything yet...we tried to start christmas morning breakfast but now tha we moved back home its kinda hard...
Once we move back in together it will be easier to officially start our own traditions

i cook for every holiday everyyr for both our families.. whoever wants to come...comes. soo much easier!

we dont have a holiday tradition, but once we're married i'd like to send out christmas cards

i haven't started anything with him...but when we are leaving together then we'll def work on decorating our place

We don't live together so it is hard to have a traditions yet but we send out christmas cards to all our friends and family together

we havent really started anything yet...i still do by my parents and he does at his home. Starting our own traditions is one of the things I am most looking foward to

We send out Christmas cards (he collects addresses and I write them out, haha) and we put a picture of us and the dog in them, haha. At least to the ones we send out to people who wouldn't make fun of us for it!

Also we used to go to the Bronx Zoo holiday lights thing they had every year which was like, my favorite tradition, but now they aren't running it anymore because of their 'carbon footprint' - usually I'm all for being environmentally conscious but this made me so sad!

Finally we still have our 'St. John's Christmas Tree Lighting' thing they do at St. John's where we went for undergrad, met and now go for grad/law school, they do a whole fireworks show after. I plan on going to that every year like the older alumni that go there do!
