What is or was the inspiration for your wedding? Was it a picture you saw? Or maybe something you were dreaming of your whole life? Feel free to post pictures.

I will have pictures to share next week (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) But I was generally just inspired by pretty fall colors. And I did get inspired a ton from LIW posts -- there is SO much info on here! Also, the Martha Stewart wedding magazines that come out like 4x a year really had some pretty flower and decor ideas.

Well it was mostly the fact that we were having a summer wedding & RH was on the water - so we decided to go w/ a beach theme b/c of those 2 factors...LOVED IT!

It was the 1st wedding gown I found. It was so romantic and full of lace. So therefore I went with a romantic theme, candles everywhere!
I was so sad though...I couldnt find ANYWHERE to try this dress on. They had like a size 2 sample, which I am not at a store in pittsburgh so I got to see it, but I couldnt give in to buying a dress I couldnt see on first. But it did inspire my theme

I just love the spring so I went with spring colors and a light and airy feel to the day because that's what I enjoy so much.
It worked out great with having a day wedding since the sun shining the whole time added to the whole cheerful atmosphere which is what I really wanted.

My inspiration was a picture I saw at my photographers...
This is not me...
Here is my copy of that picture.
Right after I made the decision to do those colors the Knot put them up as a color combination. In fact those colors together were all over the internet. (I did choose a bit lighter turquoise though, pool.)
My other inspiration was because of my nickname Shells and our love for the water. We picked Lands End so I knew I wanted a beachy theme, but I wanted it to stay formal. Once I picked my dress and then the BM dresses with the ribbons on them I tied the whole wedding together with shells and ribbons. Which worked out well because I didn't want the shell cake which I saw at 3 weddings I attended the year before.

My Grandmothers biggest wish was to see me get married. She was very sick most of her life and spent sooo much time in the hospital. She would always ask me what I wanted my wedding to be like... She asked me this before I was engaged all the time. I'm lucky enough that my DH did get some time with her and she loved him! But she passed 3 months before I got engaged. So the question that she always asked me was about the colors. She would say Bobby Pin (that was her nick name for me) what colors are you going to pick. And I would always say... Grandma the colors will be the color of your eyes. She had the most beautiful blue/green tealish eyes I've ever seen. My answer always made her smile. So I took that color and based my wedding off of that. Its seen in my invitations, the BM dresses, all the printing and the lighting. Only my very close family knew the story though. People at my wedding did ask what I did especially for my Grandma and I just told them to look around.

Aww that's so sweet, that just made me tear reading it.
I don't have a good story for mine. I just always pictured burgundy, ivory, and gold as my colors, and I always knew deep down we'd end up with a Winter wedding even though initially we were looking more for Fall.
