QOTD - 12/18

Good morning ladies!

Have you lost or gained any friendships during the process of planning your wedding? It can be family related too..


I find it hard to relate to my single girlfriends now. It seems as if they don't understand why I am getting married at a young age. I am 23 but I am definitely ready for marriage. This has a caused some of us to become more distant. One of my best friends is also married so our relationship continues to be strong.

I am in the same boat! My cousins are by my side no matter what but my girlfriends tend to come up with catty remarks from time to time. It's hard to relate to the single lifestyle when on the weekends, I want nothing more than to spend time with my FH! On the other hand, I have rekindled two close high school friendships because we are all planning our weddings together.

I def haven't lost any but they have changed. Sometimes they expect me to pick them over FH and they don't understand when I don't immediately ask them to do something when I have free time. But they are starting to understand more and more as time goes on

Yes I have lost one close friend, but i don't t think it's because of the wedding. And another friend of mine, im realizing just how self absorbed she really is.

I don't believe that any of my relationships with anyone has changed as a result of FH and I getting engaged. Definitely gained friends due to LIW.

Pretty much all my friends are already married or in serious relationships so I dont think our dynamic has changed at all. Everyone has been really supportive and if anything our friendships have gotten stronger through them helping me plan. I count my blessings every day for my great support system!!!

I'm definitely realizing who is happy for me and who is not! It's frustrating, I just wish some of my girlfriends would be happy for us but the jealousy is starting to show! I told one girlfriend about our engagement and her response was 'cool'. I'm not expecting backflips but c'mon, doesn't being engaged deserve a little more than 'cool'??! I'm def hoping to make some friends along the way, you girls have been a huge help

I wouldnt say I lost any friendships, but I have been getting disapointed with diffrent BM's over and over again. I am 25 ( kind of a young bride), my friends are very supportive of me and everything going on but I feel like I am in a diffrent place in my life then most of them. Most are still single and living at home with their parents while FH and I bought a house and are getting married. We just cant relate, and they dont seem to see the importance of going with me to try on bridal gowns or bridesmaids dresses for that matter. just disapointed in how they are involving themselves in my wedding

Another bm is on a weddin kick now thinking tht she is getting engaged soon so that's all she effin talks about .. She even made me go visit a hall w her the other day
