How involved are you/do you plan to be with planning your shower? Are you going to open your gifts?
My MOH/ Sister wont even let me SAY the word shower in front of her! She wants it to be a total surprise for me! This stresses me out because I am a control freak and I'd like to have my hair done before I get there so I am hoping she plans it out good! I really trust her with this but its still making me quite nervous! The only thing she wants my input in is whether or not to open my gifts. I really would rather not but other family members are insisting that I do. At my cousins shower, they had more of a cocktail brunch rather then watched her open all her gifts and it was so much more fun!

I hate surprises, so I let my mom/FMIL/MOH know the type of place I'd like (restaurant that serves brunch) and that I want to know the date so I can look nice lol. I'm sure my MOH has a theme/decor scheme in mind, but she's keeping that from me.I'll be opening presents. Everyone will expect me to, and even though it can be boring, its nice to acknowledge the people that came and thought of you.

I told my mother that my bridal shower is the one thing I want nothing to do with....I want it to be a surprise...I gave her hints of things I like but that is it.I am planning on opening my gifts...but I think my bridesmaids are going to be doing most of the opening LOL

I HATE surprises, and for this I also wanted to be sure I'm dressed appropriately w hair done. So I know the exact date and place for my shower- jan 20th at the fifth season in port Jeff. I told my mom I wanted a brunch, and that what were having. Even though I know about it, I haven't been involved in planning it at all.I def plan on opening gifts-I think my family would be upset if I didn't

I'm not going to be involved in the planning process at all. All I've asked is that I be allowed to pick an outfit and give it to one of my BMs to hold and bring that day for me to do a quick change. I will be opening gifts, people mostly expect you to, they want to Oooh and aaah, especiallythe older folks.

Somehow I'm not planning my shower anymore so I have no clue what they're going to end up doing. I'm not going to have many things to open since FH and I already live together and have most things, so I'll prob open the stuff I get. I mean at least I think I will.

Im not super involved but its going to be in my parents backyard and since we live in an upstairs apt from my parents its going to be sort of hard to hide it lol I dont like surprises so Im glad I know so I can get my hair done and look nice. I would rather not open gifts cause I find that boring but for my baby shower my family opened them before giving them to me and it went pretty fast.

I am very involved in the bridal shower planning just because it is going to be very cultural and traditional. There are certain things that need to be bought and done so I have to plan it. We call it a henna party and have a belly dancer :)

My Mom is throwing my shower. she wanted it to be a TOTAL surprise but I was NOT having it. I know the date so I can prepare for the day.( I would like to get my hair and makeup done) The only thing I know is that there will most likely be a stripper there since it is a family tradition to make the party a little less boring haha. and Yes I will be opening up my gifts! Cant wait for May 19th !

My shower was Thanksgiving weekend! I was not involved in the planning of the decor or menu but I did have a say in the date and location. I gave my mom and sister a list of places to check out and told them I wanted a cocktail brunch. They pretty much took it from there. I also told them I wanted nothing to do with cheesy shower games and I just wanted everyone to hang out, eat, drink and enjoy themselves. It worked out perfectly!!

I will know that date, but that's pretty much it. I know if will be somewhere for brunch because breakfast food is my favorite type of food (after ice cream lol).I really don't want to open presents. I would much rather everything be wrapped in clear wrap, but my mom won't let that fly lol.

I hate surprises. I am a total control freak. Most likely I won't be surprised because my family is in my home state, Maryland and I am certain it will be there. Therefore, it will be hard anyway to surprise me when I have to go out of town. The only surprise I will most likely have is the location but I will know the date.

I made the decision to open presents, even though I really think its boring for people to watch but I get how it helps the people who took the time to purchase something you really need get a nice thank you. We will see how it goes I guess. My registry only has about a billion things on it already and I haven't added bedding or luggage!

I have no idea! My family and MOH are all out of town. My FH family and my local BMs will do something, I am sure, but I have no idea what to expect. Since I don't cook and we live in a tiny apartment, I have been registering for bath and bedroom, ie lingerie! Which will be awesome, but not sure I want to open in front of everyone!!
