*QOTD* 12.8.12

This is my last question as BOTW, thanks for playing along with me everyone!

This weekend and upcoming week I am doing a LOT of wedding planning things! We are going to look at invites today, booking the honeymoon tomorrow, and sitting with the florist Tuesday. I am hoping to get all of this finalized by the New Year and then its off to DIY land!

But with all of this wedding planning craziness, I sometimes get very overwhelmed and frustrated. What do you do to destress from wedding planning?

HONESTLY, I'll give myself a break from wedding planning websites and pinterest. I tell myself, 'Hey, you also have a life outside of this wedding and life goes on!' and instead of going to the wedding planning section on pinterest, I go to the humor and laugh myself silly!

I take a step away. I like the planning but don't want to be consumed and make it my entire life.

I also just stop planning. When I feel crazy I get get off the internet and don't go on LIW or pinterest for a few days. Hitting the gym helps too!

Try to get my mind back into the present day: work, the holidays, being a good employer, friend, sister, daughter. Then, allow myself to dream about how awesome the wedding is going to be and that all the planning will result in a beautiful and meaningful moment in our lives. Always keeping I mind that it will be over on 9/22/13, and life will begin again with new and different challenges. Perspective.

Re: *QOTD* 12.8.12

I just kinda take a break from actually doing anything...my mind is constantly racing but I am legitimately not taking any action...

So kinda stepping back and focusing on something else like school or catching up with friends/family

I thankfully haven't been too overwhelmed because of our engagement length (will be almost 2 years by the time we are married).... I got all of my DIY stuff last Winter without feeling rushed and all of our vendors have been booked for a while. I've been able to take frequent breaks & not feel like I'm rushed or like I have to think about the wedding 24/7. When friends get engaged, first thing I tell them is get as much done as early as possible.... It really is so much better that way!

I haven't been stressed out. You only get married once (hopefully lol) so I've tried to make this a really fun experience for me, FH, and our families. Also, having a long engagement has been great. We have all of our major vendors booked and after New Years we'll start with the smaller details like invites and get around to booking our honeymoon.
