Thanks so much Kim for making me botw! You did a great job & had some pretty wild question!!
This was a question that they asked in Pre Cana class that I found pretty interesting. What is the amount of money you feel that you can spend without telling or discussing with your fh? What do you think he would say? When you speak with him ~ask him & compare.
I had said 175 & fh said 200. That wasn't that far off. There was one couple that said 50 & the other said 5000. I honestly thought that fh was going to say more--just because a few years ago he bought a car without telling me--glad those days are over!!

Well, FH and I each have our own checking accounts, along with a joint checking/savings. As far as I'm concerned, he can spend any amount he wants out of his personal money...that's what its there for and the same goes for me.
As far as the joint checking/savings goes, we tell each other every time we use the money in there, unless its a small purchase (a meal for FSD or something like that). I tell him when I pay bills out of there, we let each other know when we transfer money to or from there, etc.

hmm.. Maybe $200. We don't live together yet so it's not that big of a deal.

same exact thing for us....from our own accounts we dont have to tell each other what we are spending. From our joint we opened for our wedding...we tell each other if we take anything from it.

I dont think we really have a price. We usually make purchases and then say 'oh I bought this today' and it just becomes a conversation. I do believe we would discuss big purchases like cars, houses, puppies, etc.

this is a hard one-as of now, everything is still separate, so neither of us really 'clear' anything with each other...
but idk 300-400?

Since we both have our own seperate accounts... we've never really asked each other for permission to spend our own money... which is probably why were in the situation were in...

Congrats on BOTW! I would say around $200 although he recently felt the need to buy a thousand dollar shed and told me AFTER he purchased it!
