Am I the only one not taking FH's last name?? Oh man lol, don't tell him!

I love my last name - 'Amoroso' just rolls off the tongue, and it's been mine for so long, plus I have two and working on a third degree that will have MY name on those documents.

I don't mind his last name but...I just have no idea what ethnicity it is or what it means. He is 50% italian (yay!) and 50% irish, but his surname is DEFINITELY not either one of those nationalities. It almost sounds eastern european? He doesn't particularly like it himself and wants to create a 'new' last name for the two of us, but I can't part with mine.

Also, like Eunice said, it definitely reminds me of my dad to keep my name.

I plan on taking FH's last name. The only thing thats gonna stink is that my current last name starts with D and his starts with V. I feel like I'm always going to be at the back of the line now

I will def be taking FH's last name. His last name is Sweet and I love it! Actually funny story, when I first met FH and I found out his last name I told him one day I was going to marry him just cuz I loves his last name so much!! Funny how things turned out !!

I love FH's last name for signing. It's much easier for me and prettier to sign than Torres. I am taking his last name and only his last name, but I am sad to part with my own. Now no one will REALLY be able to tell that I am 100% puerto rican.

I am definitely excited to change my name to my FH's name...I can not wait to be Mrs. Di Rico, I love the way it sounds and my past name now is Rodriguez and I love it but at the same time it is so typical for a hispanic and I love that you don't hear Di Rico that often. But I 100% agree with you ladies with the hispanic last names. I do not look very puerto rican and my last name is really the only thing that makes it seem as I am, but whatever it doesn't matter a name doesn't make me any more or less Puerto Rican lol. But Mrs. Tara Di Rico (irish first name and italian last name) with the way I look Now really no one will believe me.

I'll be traveling all the way to the end of the alphabet when I marry FH... His last name starts with a Z and I love it because it's Polish! My last name is German, but I'm only like 12.5%. I'm much more Polish, English, and Czech, so I like the fact that his last name will still reflect my nationality

I am so torn on the subject. I am the youngest of 3 girls and the last to get married and I'm the only hope for keeping our last name. I kind of feel like it is who I am, it's my identity I asked him if hed considering taking mine Oh and I also like mine better

I'm not taking his name either. I worked very hard for my degrees also I own a business with my father where we pride ourselves on being a father daughter duo. So professionally, I will keep my last name but publicly I'll use his last name.

I hear ya! I would feel the same way if I were in your shoes. I would def hyphenate so u can keep that piece of u!

Oh and btw, when I met u I was wondering if u were Latina. When I accepted u on the liw 2013 fb page ystrdy it confirmed it with your last name lol.. Im PR and Cuban.

I have not decided yet. I love my last name, Sabella. Its Italian and simple and just goes. My FH name is LONG and extremely German and I absolutely hate it. He's not happy about it but chances are I will not be changing it or if I do I'll be hyphening it, but then its just sooo long. I've actually thought about getting it tattooed on myself because I'm so freaked out about loosing it! lol

This is a constant struggle between FH and I. His name is Irish, hence FutureMrsSweeney. Here’s my deal with changing my last name…I’m Puerto Rican and I like my Spanish last name. I identify with it. My family is very Americanized and I feel like if I change my last name, I’m going to be giving up the little Spanish that I have left.

I would like to at least hyphenate. FH wants me to change my name. So, I told him that if he does all of the paperwork to change my license, credit cards, Social Security, etc. I’ll change it. If not, oh well. HAHA He would never go thru the process of doing the paperwork. It just seems like a big project.
