depending on the real estate market, we will either buy or rent. we were looking, but stopped just because feel things are too crazy right now. so not really sure, but it will be somewhere in queens (ideally forest hills or astoria), but who knows. i just want it walking distance to a train!!

we currently live in an apartment downstairs from my mother. we're contemplating taking over the entire bottom floor of the house after we get married. maybe down the road buy the house from my mother

FH and I want to build a house..pretty much in the middle of no where...so he is saving money now, and whatever money will make from the wedding we will use for land or to start building a foundation if we have land by then

We will move in together before the wedding. Hopefully it will be some time in 09 but we are not sure if we will be moving into a house right away. Maybe a coop until we can get a house.

I would LOVE a house on LI...it just seems so unrealistic though

We have an apartment in Bethpage, just moved in in October. We plan to stay for a year after the wedding and keep saving as much as we can. Then we will buy a house

If i lived in bay ridge i would be so fat from eating all the good italian food there! (my mom makes me drive there from LI just go buy bread, olive oil and canoli's)

fh and i will start to look at co-ops probably in the spring but i would love a townhouse (just can't save for that and a wedding right now )

We are still working out that detail. FH is from and currently is living in CT and is about to take his low voltage electrican license test there and we do not think it will be honored in NYS. So if anything we will move to CT after the wedding. Probably rent an apartment for the first year of marriage until we can get a nice down payment. Plus my parents are moving to FL in a few years after my dad retires from the city so I always wanted my children to be close to at least one grandparent and his parents are not going anywhere any time soon. We ll see I would hate to leave LI I really love it here but it is way to expensive to afford a house here right now.

For ladies and gents looking for a apartment...I have a great apt....very big Garden City/Hempstead border....very good neighborhood. The apts in my complex are very inexpensive...if anyone wants info as the time gets closer let me know...I'll give you the landlords name...

We are going to move in together probablty in one of our parents apartments. It would be in Astoria or Whitestone.

FH has a house in Bayside, we are going to live there for a few years. Then either we are going to move to Florida or out to his house in Greenport. We are not sure about that yet though.

We are renting a house that is owned by my stepmom. Her dad lived here, but he passed aways so now she's the owner. Since it's family they cut us a break. We are going to use what we have saved already plus whatever money we get as wedding gifts to put towards a down payment on a home of our own. Ideally we'd love to buy this house but we could never afford to live in this area in real life lol....

I move into my apartment in Ft. Lauderdale this July (starting med school), then FH will move in when we get married the following June of 2010. We will buy a house 2 or 3 yrs later... luckily we have savings!!

We also rent an apartments ( we actually live in Westchester right now because our jobs got transfered to Stamford), both grew up in Long Island. I'd like to get back to Long Island one day but with the job market the way it is, we are both lucky to just have jobs (especially that we both work in financial industry). Would be nice to buy a house right now though with housing prices the way they are.
