What are some of the weirdest/stupidest comments people have made about your engagement/wedding? Things that make you go..'huh?'

I have had multiple ppl say this to me when they see my e-ring:

'Wow, he must really love you!' --- i dont' understand this comment. Like if fh couldn't afford to buy me a nice ring then he doesn't love me as much?! i think its a ridiculous statement and i don't understand when ppl say that to me!

We were together 9 years also when we got engaged...we heard a lot of 'it about time!!'

Yup same here. Also been together 9 years and have gotten the 'it's about time.' It's been a running joke that I'm going to have a scrolling marquee at my wedding saying that.

We've also gotten the 'why so long' comment. My explanation is that I wanted it this year, but I refuse to get married in the winter b/c it's too cold and nothing I liked was available. So we had to push it back to next year.

sometimes i respond... well i can do it 2009 if you wanna pay for some of it

yepp same here! 'WOW thats along time away ' then the dumb look.....umm well it doesnt happend over night unless your rich but then again ppl that have made these comments are not as bright or younger lol so I can't get too mad.

FH & i will be together 9 years this March, so prior to getting engaged we always used to hear, 'when are you getting married?' since getting engaged we hear, 'why are you waiting until 2010?' know that we have a date set we hear, 'omg its coming up so fast.'

Same exact thing. We are actually together 9 years TODAY!

The most annoying was the priest who tried 3 times to get me to move the date up...I told him he could pay for it then. I said it in a sweet way. LOL

When I told one friend we were waiting until July 2010 (we got engaged in July 2008) she said

'Oh, so it's like you're engaged to be engaged.'

FH's family mostly lives in northern New Jersey, I get from HIM all the time...

'They are from out of state they arn't going to come'

WHAT?!!? It's Jersey not Europe!! and It's a Wedding! I know they will come..... dumb boys

Ahhhhh ive gotten similar comments and they drive me nuts!!
