Good Morning Ladies, Happy Monday

Before I ask my question, I want to say THANK YOU to Melissa for picking me.

Okay, here goes nuttin'!!!

How did you first hear about LIW? Did you create a user name before you became engaged? Are you more or less addicted than the person who referred you?

My sister, who happens to be 8 years younger than me told me about LIW. She had a few ladies at her wedding that she met here.

I didn't create a user name until after I was engaged. I may have to check the date, because it might have been the day of or right after we got engaged.

Right now I'd have to say I'm a little less addicted than my sister. She ended up getting thrown off of LIW, then a group of the friends she made here created their own little group of something. They just had their holiday party Saturday afternoon. From that group I think a supper club and book club were launched. But I don't know, if the hostesses of LIW 2010 keep throwing G2G's like they have, I may be more addicted than my little sis.

Hope everyone has a great week!! I could use a little luck because FH is on furlough and this is his first week of four. He said he was ordering a dumpster and throwing out all of the clutter.

ETA: Shoot, I thought I created an account right away. I didn't create one until January. I guess that was when we set our date.

First of all, congrats on BOTW Kim!

I was pretty well into the planning process when I was introduced by my friend and fellow bride-to-be Dana. I used to post on TK a lot, but I like the format over here so much better and because it's only NY brides, the information is so much more pertinent than it is on TK. Thanks Dana for getting me addicted!

first learned of LIW when I was researching RHs, a few months after we got engaged. Only decided to post when i was in desperate need of finding a LI church that would take non parishioners.

Congrats BOTW!!

I found out about the site from one of my BM who got engaged about 2 months before me!! I was on the site all the time before I was engaged but didn't create an account until after.

i heard about LIW from a friend who had gotten married last year. she probably posted a couple of times, but she has no idea baout my obsession- lol

congrats on BOTW!!!!

i stumbed upon it loooking at wedding stuff before we got engaged... we talked about our wedding alot, and everyone around us was getting married so i was looking at stuff! I don't remember when i joined... i think it was right after we got engaged!

One of my friends got married in September, but she was previously engaged like 4 years ago and she came on here when she got engaged the first time...

I had been looking on theknot message boards and everyone was sooooo bzillaish, that I couldnt take it... another girl i know that got married last summer told me to come here...

i found this site from someone from the knot... actually didnt really like it as much but the knot died down and i needed help.

i was around at first, then fell off the earth, but now im back.... and freaking out because i will leave soon.... MARRIED

i didn't hear about it i was googling reception halls in long island ny and this website came out! then i was lurking for about 2 months and decided to join once i saw how hard it was to pick an rh lol

i think it was a yahoo search, when we first got engaged and were planing to get married in 2012 there weren't too many 2012 brides then so i stopped... at thanksgiving dinner we decided on december of next year!! now i'm on here everyday reading every post !! dipping my pinky toe in the chat waters (for some reason online i am shy!?!?) but i apparently have so much to do and i'm still trying to figure out most of the lingo ... i was yahoo-ing everything until realized there was a chat lingo link up there ^^ !

i found this site when one of my best friends were getting married in august of 2008 and i was helping her with her plans because she had just moved here from PA. i knew i would hopefully be getting engaged soon so i created a username but i think i only posted once before i was actually engaged.

I actually think I fell upon LIW. I was already engaged with I made a username. I was a member for awhile before I posted anything.

I just found LIW by chance. Just googling and looking around at different wedding websites after we got engaged. We got engaged on New Years and I didn't join until I think April which is when I found LIW. None of my friends have really used it or FSIL but I'm getting my friends into it! HAHA!

Congrats on being BOTW!!!

I found LIW / NYC weddings by Google searching... really when I Googled LI wedding venues. I lurked a bit... before committing and then posted a fe times before introducing myself officially (oops). I was learning the lingo and really enjoyed and appreciated the feedback from everyone. It quickly became such an addiction that FH made me agree to cut back and spend more quality time with him... after my 1,000 posts though. LOL

i heard about liweddings for the first time from a doc that i interviewed. i definitely did not create a username before we were engaged, as i didn't know about the site and also, i'd never really even thought about a wedding at all. i assume i'm more addicted than the woman who referred me...since she's a vendor!! i'd be sad for a vendor that spent as much time on liw as i do!!!
