QOTD 1/5

Good Morning Ladies it is a beautiful day outside so enjoy your day off (and for the girls like me that have to work enjoy LIW )

The QOTD is: What is one thing you are planning to splurge and one thing you are planning to cut corners? And say how are you planning to cut the cost.

I guess we splurged on the Bentley as the limo since it was much more expensive than any of the other cars and I hope to save on the flowers... I'm just going to comparison shop until I find the best price and quality.

Our splurge was the hall...a bit more expensive then we really should have spent. Our cutting corners is limos....we aren't getting them. I am going to get ready at the hall and FH will get ready at the hotel near it, so he'll just take the shuttle over.

We are about average on the photo/video so far and I thought we may have ended up spending more because that was sooo important to us!!!

Our RH will be $$$$$ we got a great deal at Giorgio's but we are looking at 200 people! so no matter what.. that gets pricey!!!!!!!!!

We want some extras with the DJ.. so we are going to splurge a lil for the plasma TV with MONTAGES, etc

Flowers I don't want to CUT CORNERS.. but I DONT WANT TO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!

Invites-I am not splurging on ! I feel like the only people who really care about them ARE US and close family adn friends.. everyone else will dump em!

Limos-We aren't going crazzy but we do need to transport a RATHER LARGE BRIDAL PARTY!!! so either way that gets TRICKY! so we are thinking either 2 large limos or 1 large party bus.... and then a rolls royce for us! (so that's a bit of a splurge)

My Dress--- NO IDEA.. not starting to look til Feb/March

Engagement Party-We are cutting corners.. decided not to go for the BIG one with DJ etc. having an engagement DINNER at a nice restaurant... .close family and bridal party (still about 50 people though) DIY centerpieces, invites, etc.

Programs/Table Numbers- will be DIY

trying to cut corners in some places...

I think with everything I really wanted to cut corners, but at this point if we like something we just go for it.

Cuttin corners on flowers, invites-- anything that doesnt leave a lasting impression to me.... I plan oN DIYing the centerpieces (maybe having a couple of flowers in it) and im not having a big wedding party .... invites i'm ordering them online and while i love pocketfolds, i cant justify spending all that money on them...

spulrging on the extras that you dont see everyday at weddings... steel drums, percussionist, cigar roller

We are planning to splurge on the Photographer. I want to make sure we have a great photographer and great pictures, we are cutting corners on the videographer, FH and I know we are going to watch it once and never again, so to us it is a waste of money. We also arent going crazy with an e-party. We are just going to have a bbq over the summer for our families to get together and maybe a few friends.

Splurge ~ RH and photography
Cut ~ Flowers....hall is beautiful enought dont need anything extravagant just maybe some candles....Limo getting married at RH so I really only need one to get the bridal party there for pictures (the girls and I will get ready at my parents house)... Getting a DJ instead of a band...

Oh and the honeymoon....I think we are just gonna go to Punta Cana (I love it there) this year bc FH cant get off for two weeks in dec so the following summer we are gonna go for a two weeks and travel to paris london italy and spain....spend a few days in each!!

I definitely want to slurge on my photographer... but i'm thinking that flowers may cost more than I thought they would

We're cutting costs on transportation and the DJ. Since our wedding is in the afternoon and the location is at the same place as the ceremony, we don't really need transportation to go anywhere other than to the place and maybe somewhere for pics. So we're not hiring limos. Our RH has a self playing piano during the cocktail hour and since it's an afternoon wedding, we don't need all the lighting and fancy stuff. We're not really into the big plasma screens or photomontages. So we're just going with a simple package.
