I'm still undecided. I'm really sad to part with my last name. It's not a great last name, but it's who I am. Maybe hyphenate, not sure.

As of right now, I am going to keep my last name. I was very solid in my decision to not change, until I started thinking about if we have kids it'll be harder to pick them up from school, people are going to call us Mr. and Mrs.___, and a multitude of other reasons. What is funny, is that even thought FH and I have been together for almost 10 years, his family can never remember my last name (I've been told its not Italian enough to remember)! If I change it, they will know it for sure!

Definitely changing mine. I still have my married name from my first marriage. And I don't have a good relationship with my father, so going back to my maiden name is a big no too. So I'll the the Irish chick with the Spanish last name. LOL

Re: **~QOTD~** 2.24.13
Ideally I would like to take on his last name however professionally I want to keep my maiden name since my degrees and licenses are under that name. I'm trying to figure out how that will all work out in regards to all the other paperwork. I don't plan on name changing my professional paperwork as of yet. However, in Filipino culture, the bride doesn't truly give up her maiden name but instead turns into her middle name. So in that regard my maiden name will still be with me but also have hubby's last name as well.

Definitely changing my name. I'm both excited and sad. I can't wait to share the same last name as my FH but I will really miss my maiden name. Plus I'm going from a traditional Irish name to a very Italian last name, it's going to feel so different!
This could be my answer exactly, right down to Irish to Italian!i'm trying to get used to so many vowels.. every other letter is an 'I' hahahaha

I've been thinking a lot about this and I think I'm going to take his last name and then make my maiden name my middle name.

FH and I have a daughter and everyone calls me Mrs. ____ anyway. At school, the pediatrician, dance, cheer, and on and on. I don't bother correcting them cause whatever, but whether or not you take his name, when you have kids, people will assume and just call you mrs ___ anyway.

I'm changing mine. A lot of my friends call my a nickname of my last name, so I'm sure they'll always call me that, but I can't wait to have FH's last name.

I am taking my FW's last name. I toiled over the decision though. On one hand I meant to change my last name for my 30th bday because I have a strained relationship with my father and want to sever all ties to him. On the other hand, I was hoping to at least keep a Latino last name (I’m a very proud Latina), my FW’s last name is very beautiful, but very French. Ultimately, the deciding factor is the fact that I want to have the same last name as our children, and a hyphenated name just gets complicated - so that was the end of that. Now that I’ve made the decision though, I can finally be excited about it! I practice writing my new signature like I’m the 3rd grade lol.

I am changing to his last name and keeping my maiden name as my middle name.
This is most likely what I'll be doing as well.

Lol, I've practiced exactly how to say it, like with or without a French accent, hard on the vowels, soft on the vowels. I predict I'm going to confuse a lot of people in the first 6 months with my new name lol.
