Ill give the short version...We were in Atlantic City. He left me by a slot machine to go back to the room to get 'water' Later when we were done gambling..we went back to the room to relax before dinner. I walked in and he had all cards, notes, everything Ive given him since we started going out in HS..all laid out on the bed with the ring. I was completely shocked!
We were having a tree trimming party at our apartment. All the important people in my life were there including my parents and my bro. He got us all in the same room (about 20 people) and said something like 'I am happy you are all here tonight. I have something important I want to say.... ' I can't remember the rest of what he said. I was just too shocked. He knew I loved Christmas time.
We were away on vacation (VA Beach) and we had gone to dinner. Afterwards we went back to the hotel and FH took me out onto the balcony overlooking the ocean and got down on one knee.

Preparing to live Happily Ever After...
Every once in awhile, Special K and I try to have a special date night. On November 18, 2007 I brought her to a few of our favorite places to go. The first place we went was the Holtsville ecology site. It sounds kind of silly, but it is very special to us because we had been going there for a long time, even before we started dating. On our first official date I brought Special K there after dinner and we had our first kiss at sunset on the scenic overlook. We went back this past November and tried to walk around a bit. It was a bit chilly so we decided to go into the greenhouse. However we could not because there was a bridal party taking pictures there. Talk about irony! I was already nervous, this didn't help.
After walking a bit, we drove down to Port Jefferson and had dinner in a nice Italian restaurant. It was such a nice relaxing dinner, being able to enjoy a fine meal and each other. After dinner we tried walking around a bit, however Special K got cold and I had to move up my plans a bit.
I took her to a small courtyard near the water. I had scouted the location out the day before. So I already had an idea of how I wanted to propose. We were just sitting there talking and holding hand went I reached into my pocket and pulled out my ipod with speakers and began playing our song, 'I finally found someone', by Barbara Streisand and Bryan Adams. I then took out three silk roses from my pocket and with each one, I expressed how I grew to love her from the past, the present and how I wanted to continue to love her far into the future.
I got down on one knee and just did it! I asked her to be my wife and how i want her to be with me forever. Thank goodness she said yes. Otherwise I might have thrown myself into the water! After we finished crying and hugging each other, I walked Special K back to the car. She wanted to go to her parents house and show them the ring, however I had other plans. I explained that I had already taken care of that, and they were all already at my house waiting for us. They had champagne waiting for us and everyone was really happy.
