Many people today marry someone of a different culture or even if the same culture may have different family traditions. And naturally many of these you try to incorporate those into your wedding. So what are those traditions?Im Greek and my FH is Jordanian. In his culture there is a big party thrown by the grooms side 2 nights prior to the wedding where they are to 'prep' him to get married where they are supposed to shave his face and wash his feet. We both wanted to get married in a church and we decided to do it in my families church (after much debate) because I always imagined it being there since I was baptized there. I love the ceremony with the stefana crowns that you do during the ceremony and symbolism behind it. To keep his traditions there is a song that we are supposed to dance to once we are first introduced (im not sure what its called) and we will do this after our first dance as its really upbeat and alot of yelling during. We are also playing music from both cultures, any may have an arabic singer for a little bit for this first dance and some songs later on.

FH comes from a very Italian family while my family is Irish. I'm afraid the only cultural traditions we're including (as of now) is eating tons of food and drinking a lot of alcohol.

I come from an Irish/German background and he from an Italian background. We are having the NYPD bagpipers come perform for a bit during the reception. And he is bringing well, lots of people lol. What I've learned about most Italian families in my time with him is that everyone's considered a cousin. We are nearing 250 people

My FH family is jewish but not religious. He wants to do the breaking of the glass so we are incorporating that into our ceremony.

He's Puerto Rican/Honduran, I'm Irish/German. Opposite ends of the spectrum, if you ask me. But I've embraced his traditions and cuisine, and he's learned to love Guinness :)

I am Jewish, so we will be doing the glass breaking at the ceremony, signing the ketubah before the ceremony, the chair dance and the blessing over the bread at the reception.Welcome New Vendors
