QOTD 3-19

Trying to think of questions are so hard haha I was up last night thinking about it like I was preparing a school project.

The only thing I could think of for today is in-laws. How do you get along with FH's family? I lucked out since he's an only child so I didn't have to deal with bitchy siblings. His parents and I get along but there's only so much I can take of them. Past the immediate family I'm screwed. He has this one cousin who I just don't get along with AT ALL! I'm nervous about her being at the wedding but at the same time I'm excited b/c I'll have all my friends around and his family will finally see me let loose and be me.

Re: QOTD 3-19

I'm pretty lucky too. His siblings are all somewhere else... far. lol They are sweet when I talk to them on the phone or tango. His mother is so nice- she's out of state too. lol Everyone likes me! They were bugging him to find out when he would pop the question!

The only thing is I have to learn to speak a bit more spanish as it gets slightly awkward when I'm at his family functions and understand...close to nothing...actually nothing

QOTD 3-19 - Long Island Weddings

I get along really well with my fsils. I enjoying spending time with them, but it's easier separately then when they are together. I don't feel like I really know my future fil too well. He's super quiet, but he's definitely nice to me. I have the biggest issue with my fmil. Before we were engaged I would definitely say our relationship was better. Once we started planning the wedding, it's been wry hard for me to deal with her. She's very controlling and doesn't like hearing he word no and is making my life with fh very complicated now in that regard.

Re: QOTD 3-19

My FFIL and future step-MIL are the best. I mean THE BEST!!! FH is VERY close to his dad, and he's a great person. I just love them so much! We all get along so well. Many years ago FH and I broke up for the better part of a year, and I would still go visit them! We joke all the time that they like me better than they like him!

FMIL is another story. My mom taught me not to say anything if I can't say anything nice. So, I'll leave it at that.

QOTD 3-19 - Long Island Weddings

I'm very fortunate that I get along with FH's family! Even before we were engaged, his parents considered me their FDIL. I've gotten into little tiffs with his parents, but so has all the SO's of their children.

As for his siblings. I love his sister, like a sister. Her birthday is actually today :). And his brother is cool. We all do triple dates and stuff.

Good times :)

I am very lucky, FH's parents are awesome and I have a great relationship with them. FH jokes around that they like me more than him. FSIL and I also get along great, she lives across the country though so we only see each other a few times a year. We mostly skype with her so that her daughter knows us! FBIL and his wife live close by, but FH and his brother don't have the closest relationship. I get along well with both of them though. FH's SIL and I both try to get the brothers to see each other more often.

QOTD 3-19 - Long Island Weddings

I'm blessed to say I love FH's family. From his brothers to his aunts and uncles and cousins and 'cousins' that aren't actually family, they've all accepted me and made me feel like family from day 1.

I'm extremely close with my brothers (they're my best friends and the first people i always want to make plans with) so it's always been super important to me that whoever i ended up marrying had a good relationship with his family.

I guess my only gripe is that FH has no sisters and neither do i. I always wanted a sister but I guess it's my lot in life to be surrounded by brothers.

QOTD 3-19 - Long Island Weddings

I love my in laws!! MIL is a lil over bearing at times but I think thats a mutual feeling amongst all the children. I get along with all his sisters and we even went on vaca to DR 2 years ago together just the girls. His extended family is HUGE and I thought mine was big. but they all love me and actually contact me about family issues and not my FH.

QOTD 3-19 - Long Island Weddings

MY FH is adopted and an only child so he is very much the golden child. The FILs can be a bit much at times since he is their world but they mean well and are really great people. I know they'd do anything for us and they've considered me a daughter for a very long time. I could do much worse :)
