It's SATURDAY!!! Hope you girls all enjoy your weekend!!Not to be a Debbie Downer, but what is the biggest disappointment you've had in your planning process?
The biggest disappointment I've had isn't necessarily directly related to my wedding. I got engaged in June, and asked my 3 best friends from sleepaway camp to be bridesmaids. They, of course, said yes, and I was so excited to share the planning process with them. But then one got into law school in DC, one got a job in Philadelphia, and one moved to Buffalo to live with her boyfriend. All in one month!! While I am super excited for all of them to be doing exciting things with their lives, I was disappointed that they won't be able to help me with a lot of the planning. But they still post to our Pinterest wall almost every day, so they're forgiven! LOL

Oh man...I'm not even sure what I'd do if my besties moved away. The biggest disappointment so far has been my lack of motivation. I find booking the big things boring. Like so far we have our venue. Thats it. I get bored going to to the other things. I just wish FH would take the initiative and get it done for me! Wahhhhh

The biggest disappointment I have had has been the lack of involvement or care from my sister (MOH). We have gotten into HUGE fights because she is so stubborn and selfish that I just can't even fathom it anymore. We most recently had an in depth conversation and I understand we are two different people but I have given herEVERYTHING for all of the experiences in her life and it is like pulling teeth for her to reciprocate that. Apparently, I am the selfish one though. I really have learned through this process that she is truly self absorbed and will never change and for that reason, I have pulled away from her. We were BFF's and I still think we are close but I DEFINITELY have pulled away from her and do not let her involved in intricacies of my life any more because she is judgmental and no one is better than her, her life, her kids or her marriage, mind you there are MANY faults within the 4 walls of her home.

biggest disappointment would be having to wait a year and a half I wish we already had the $ saved to have the wedding ASAP because we're ready for a house and to start thinking about kids :)

My biggest disappointment is having to change my vision. I always wanted to get married on the water in a venue that had a true nautical feel. I couldn't find a place I truly loved & one in my budget. BUT I am happy with where we booked its just hard to put a vision together when for years I've been planning a nautical wedding.

Hmm...2 things come to mind. Luckily, I'm hoping one will change soon and that's the perceived lack of excitement I've gotten about the wedding so far. I'm attributing that to the fact that there's still a year and a half to go, so I hope the families will be more into it then. The second is that my BMs are scattered in different states (NY, NJ, AZ). It would be nice to have them all here, but I also feel like I'm imposing by asking them to help plan. They're all my FSILs and married, some have children. They're all sweet and offered to help so I know this is just me overthinking things, but we'll see what happens when the wedding gets closer. C'mon 2014!!

Edited b/c I realized I wrote a year and a half away! It's not a year and a half...it's a year and 2 months! That cheered me up a bit lol

The biggest disappointment for me so far was having to find a new band. FH and I really liked the band we had booked but due to circumstances out of our control, it was best for us to find a new one. But I guess everything happens for a reason because the band we booked now is amazing and we're so excited to see them play at our wedding!

My biggest disappointment so far has been the lack of interest from my family about the engagement. I'm lucky that my friends and future in-laws are so excited, so it balances out!

Biggest disappointment so far is not being able to get out branch centerpieces. It was totally something I needed at the wedding but just could not afford. After thinking about it though, I think it's more o the lack of communication and interest from my mom and bridesmaids. My mom just gets stressed and seems uninterested, and my BMs rarely ever contact me or respond when I text them.

My biggest disappoint is something that happened long before I even thought of getting married. Its definitely not having my dad here for the planning and knowing he won't be walking me down the aisle. I obviously knew for a long time that it wasn't going to happen since he passed away when I was 8 but now that I'm actually planning the wedding it's starting to hit me

I think the biggest disappointment about my plans so far (aside from the issues with my friend that you ladies definitely helped me feel better about) is the lack of excitement from FHs family and my dad. With his family... they're just not wedding or party people. His mom asked if she has to get a special dress. I know they're excited for us to get married... but its just a weird situation I guess. With my dad.. I think he's just so wrapped up in his wife's family and stuff... and we don't really have a relationship like we used to have. So its a little weird for me. Like the other day I called him to tell him about the date for our engagement party and he was like 'okay well I'm on the phone so just remind me closer to it' I was like... 'Oh. Okay' and all I was thinking was ***?!?

My biggest disappointment has been my scattered BMs but that situation is starting to get better because my one girlfriend has really started to step up and has been a huge help so far.Now my new disappointment has been my parents acting like they're 12 years old. They're going through a divorce and it's always been ugly and I constantly have to run interference between them. I couldn't even have an engagement party because of them and now my dad refuses to be in the same room as my mom. FMIL contacted me to set up a dinner for the six of us and my dad refuses to even do that. She even said 'it's ok if it has to be two dinners', it's nice that she's understanding but OMG it's so embarrassing. It's really bumming me out.

My biggest diappointment would have to be that I've expected to feel like a bride for a while now, but I haven't really felt it yet. Don't know if it's because it's a little over a year away?

I keep having to remind myself that I'm a bride. I have to admit, I agree with you that I don't feel like a bride yet. I'm hoping that trying on dresses will make me feel that way.
