We didn't want a summer wedding. We like the Fall however having gotten engaged in February planning for Fall of 08 was not an option. We already had 1 wedding in September and I knew of a mutual friends wedding in October. We didn't want to wait until Fall of 09 so that left us with Winter and Spring. We preferred Spring and based on whatever date the venues had available is how we wound up with our wedding date.

We originally wanted the date of 8/15/09 which is a Saturday but with our small budget we decided to go with Sunday 8/16/09.

We wanted 8/15 because that is our anniversary. It will be 6yrs this August

We chose October for a lot of reasons. In the spring my allergies are really bad and I didn't want to be all red a puffy for my wedding. FH feels that the summer is too hot to be in a tux. We also needed to make sure that it worked out with the Jewish holidays which are in the fall months.
October is a beautiful month weather wise! That my lovelies is how I chose my wedding date

Absolutely no thought went into it at all. Is that bad?

The RH had the date open, it was a Saturday night which we wanted and because it's November, it was relatively inexpensive.

we're both teachers and wanted a summer month.. we weren't sure that would even work out. however, when we visited our RH, before we booked it, they had the perfect day available so we snatched it up and that's how it sorta set itself!

Well we moved up our wedding date from March 2010 to 2009 and we decided to do this like November 2008. I would've loved Spring of 2009 but there wasn't enough time to plan everything. I then asked my photographer if they had September 19th or 26th available they didn't so i had to move the date into October then my church was booked on the 3rd so that's how the 10th came about.

Money LOL.

Our ideal date was 11/7...which seems to be one of the most popular dates of 2009! We were also willing to go a few weeks back into October, and a few weeks forward into late November/early December.

After all was said and done, in order to have it at the place we wanted the most, we had to compromise on the date. We just couldn't afford the price per person, OR the minimum of like 175 for a Saturday night in October or November. So....December it was.

We were lucky we were able to get that first weekend too, because after 12/12 you're not allowed to get married in the Orthodox church until after Christmas due to Advent...and then we really would have been SOL.

Money, weather and time. We got engaged in April. I HATE the summer and hot weather, so that was out of the question. I also didn't want to have a very long engagement, as I am as old as a fossil, and am considering having kids. I needed at least 9 months to plan, I thought, so I shot for March, because if I waited until May, it starts to get hot, and then we're in summer, and then by fall it's over a year engagement. Also, the prices at my RH shot up in the beginning of April, so it all worked out for March 28.

FH picked our date which is Labor Day weekend. He has no opinion on anything so when he proposed the date I said cool. One less thing I have to think of. It is working out well. Our fam will be in town till Tuesday and we are having a post wedding BBQ at the house the following Sunday with everyone. we plan to leave for our HM that wed once all our fam have left town.

May is a special month for us - his birthday and our anniversary and it worked out that we are getting married 3 days after his 30th birthday, and 3 days before our 3 year anniversary.

I always wanted a spring wedding... we orrignally wanted May - but then there was some drama that three other people got engaged as well, and they wanted May too...so we bounced it back to early April. Oh well..it's still spring. LOL

I originally wanted spring but it was too expensive. I love the weather in september so that was our second choice.

I really wanted a spring wedding but it was hard with FH being a teacher so it was better to do it in the summer.
