So how did everyone decide when they were going to get married? (either the time of year or the date)I am a teacher so I knew that I wanted to get married during the summer so that I would have almost 2 months off before the wedding to do all of the last minute things that come up (and so I can be tan lol). As for the date since we planned in 13 months I basically had 2 Friday nights to choose from so there wasn't much choice lol.

We knew we wanted a time of year where the weather would be mild - not too hot but also not rainy/chilly. We were debating between early June and late September, and opted for June since there's daylight longer!

I just finished my master's in education in December and knew that if we we set our date for Sept. 2014, that it would look so bad to be taking a honeymoon within my first years of teaching... we decided on May 25 because we are off on the 26th (memorial day), and then just put off the honeymoon until after the school year ends... That way, I will have no plans come September for anything.

I got engaged in June and didn't want to wait a full year, so we picked March.

I knew I wanted October. Autumn on Long Island is just one of my favorite things, the colors, the smells. And FH wanted a Saturday night. The 25th was the only Saturday night in October left, so we took it!

We were going to get married a year after our engagement which would have been 12/13 but we just couldnt save up enough for that time so we gave ourselves 3 more months. The date was originally arbitrary but then we tried to pick my godmothers birthday 3/22 to honor her since she passed away, but she didn't want to share I guess because the church was booked. We just picked the next weekend. It was sort of dumb luck that we were 'off season' 3/29.

I knew our wedding was going to have a very small budget, so we looked at off season months. I wanted April or November, because after thanksgiving all places have Xmas decorations and April didnt give us enough time to save. I picked a weekend knowing that we had a day off the following Tuesday off for Veterans Day so we could just take a personal day after the wedding and the. Have about a little over a month to save up for a honeymoon.

Although FH and I are not teachers, many of my BMs are and we have a lot of teachers in our family so we figured the summer was going to be easiest for everyone to make it. We were hoping for late may/ june but of course our venue was booked up till JULY which was fine since it gave us about 18 months to plan. We're happy with the date but, since this is clearly a learning process, we probably would have picked something in the off season if we knew then what we know now.

Ever since I can remember, I always wanted a fall wedding. Theres something very romantic about the fall to me, and how picturesque everything looks when the leaves change colors. Also, one of our friends are actually getting married the week before us, so we took the week after. They actually postponed their honeymoon so they could come to our wedding, which is a nice gesture. :)

We always wanted a fall wedding because we loved that it isn't too hot and we also figured that it wouldn't be too expensive. Our venue basically talked us into June and planning our wedding in 8 months!! I couldn't be happier with our date now but if you would have told me a year ago that I was going to plan a wedding in 8 months and it would be in the summer, I'd tell you that you're crazy! Haha

Our wedding date is the day we started dating. My mother didn't want us to get married the next year, she really pushed for a two year engagement so we did our date for this year.

We wanted it to be in October because we officially got together 10/9 and got engaged in 10/10. It would have been perfect if we could have gotten married on 10/11 (which falls on Sat this year) but since we just got engaged this past Oct, lots of places were already booked and also costly. Am happy that it will still fall in October !

We really wanted sept or or early oct since it's cool out and we already were engaged a year and half and didn't want to wait for 2015. Since we started planning December the dates that both the church and hall were available were limited to 3. So I thought Labor Day weekend would be easier for a lot since most of the family is either traveling or in college.

FW picked the official date. We wanted a summer wedding - nice and hot. I wrote out all of the possible weekends in July and August and she liked 7/11. She loves playing slots in AC and we go whenver we can, so it seemed fitting. Now to make sure people remember we tell them free slurpy day lol.

Same here. When we settled on October 2014 as opposed to June of 2015, October 25 was the only date our venue had left for the month.

We got engaged 10/12/12 I knew I wanted a summer wedding and 2013 was just too close so we chose 2014. I didn't care if it was June, July, or Aug. FH preferred June since it was AS hot as july & august. I didn't care about the actual date but we couldn't afford a Saurday Night so had to settle on a friday night. Westbury Manor had 6/20 & 6/27 available. I let FH pick. He chose 6/20/14 because it is a 'clean, round number lol'

I've always loved the spring. It's always meant the birth of new and beautiful things, plus I love the colors. FH hates the heat so despite the summer being easier as a teacher, we picked the last weekend in April. We'll just go on our honeymoon in July and I get the spring break to do all of my last minute details.Welcome New Vendors
