What is the one thing about your wedding that someone else wants you to have but you refuse to give in to?
For us it was a full mass at the church. FH's parents really wanted us to have a full mass. But I refuse to. I'm catholic, and he's episcopal. We're getting married in a catholic church. I refuse to have a mass at my wedding when the groom (and his entire family) can't receive communion.
FMIL was giving us grief for the longest time about this saying how it's such a great way to start a marriage, blah, blah, blah. It's probably the one and only thing that I've put my foot down on and refuse to budge.

My aunt tried to convince me not to have it on a Monday holiday. I told her that if she wanted to pay the extra $$$, I'd have it any day she wanted. Well, needless to say she is not paying the extra $$$.

FSIL wants us to have the wedding a whole year later since she just got engaged on NYE and is having her wedding next May...apparently the translation of 'your special day' has turned into 'your special year'

So what I typed apparently didn't make it to the board, so here goes again:
What I've put my foot down about is:
NO CHILDREN!! Well, both my feet got stomped on this one.
The one thing I will not, absolutely will not budge on is that my FMIL CAN NOT bring a MARRIED man as her guest!!!!!!! One of my BM will be telling him should he show up. Oh and if she tries to bring him to the eparty, I will cause a scene!!!!!!!

My mom wants us to have kids at the Reception. I love kids and all, but my friends are partiers. I could just imagine them dancing and stepping on one of my cousins hands on the Dance floor. No kids mom, sorry!

ETA: Didnt have a reply when I clicked 'reply' oops
FH and I are pretty much getting everything we wanted and not being told what to do as we are paying for the wedding ourselves (one of the ups to that!). Although, we originally wanted to get married on a beach - and well, my mother being a strict Catholic and all, said no - we have to get married in my parish. Ok fine - no biggie - its a pretty church anyways!

No body has been to pushy yet. I think my family for the most part, knows my personality and that I have it under control. If I need help or opinions on things then I wouldn't hesitate to ask.
