Good morning ladies!! Hope everyone is enjoying this absolutely gorgeous day! The question today is, how did you pick your wedding date?
I actually became a crazy person, and checked the Farmer's Almanac back like 10 years to see the rain on the first Friday of June. No rain!! EXCEPT LAST YEAR!!!!!! HAAAA!!! So anyway, I picked June 5th hoping for no rain based on weather history. Now I couldn't care less if it was a hurricane as long as I marry my man. I should also add we were always looking for a Friday night, based on price, and wanted good weather.
How about you guys?

I knew I wanted the fall, actually I was going to go for November, but didn't want to be too close to thanksgiving, and FFIL suggested October.
And I like even numbers, lol.

How did we pick our date?? Good question..
I always wanted to get married in the spring, but getting engaged on the 4th of July, we didn't want to have such a short engagement, and we didn't want to have an almost 2 year one either. FH had suggested Fall 09...he's so good!
When we went to the RH looking, our date was one of the few that were left..Typically October has always been a sad month for my family-Oct 21 is the anniversary of my father passing away..But when Oct 3 was one of the options, we went for it because now we will have October as something to celebrate and not mourne anymore..

We wanted the weather to still be nice and not too hot or too cold. We picked the Sunday of Labor Day weekend because most people have the following day off and I wanted the wedding to be during the day since everything will be held outside on the beach.

It was a bit of a mess for us we had a 2010 date but decided to move our date up. Our photographer had certain days available and our church also so we chose this date because the church and the photog had this date available.

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
We didn't want a long engagement. We got engaged in July and decided that while we wanted a really nice wedding, we wanted to get as much for our $$ as possible, so the summer was out for us. I also didn't want anything outside (bad allergies in Spring, Summer and Fall). I felt that Jan/Feb/March wouldn't give us enough time to plan and save. We skipped over the summer and were looking in October/November. A Saturday night in November was $20-$30 pp less than a Friday night in October, so we decided to do a Saturday in November. The RH had an opening on Saturday night, November 14 and that's how we picked it.

I was orignally in July. I wanted to get married outside on the water, but that changed once funds had a tight grip on me. I was gonna go for September, but the discount for the end of October was more intising(sp?). I love Halloween but didn't want to actually be on that date so the 30th was good for me and so was the price

I honestly have no idea why we chose the end of May. It wasn't a particular date we wanted just the time of year. I just hope by then we are not still having these cold flashes!

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
well, couple of things... we loved Atlantica and wanted to get married there, and they only had a few dates left. June 26th is perfect because it's at the end of the school year and we're teachers... and finally 2+6 = 8 which is our number...we both have always loved the numbers 7 and 8... well before we even knew each other, and so for me it was just a perk of the date :o) lol

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
Money lol. And weather. I hate the summer, and spring can still be too iffy. Fall was ideal for us because it's cool but not cold, and generally crisp and dry. But alas, we couldn't afford fall at any of the places we really wanted the reception. Our ideal date was 11/7, but we were willing to move a few weeks forward or backwards depending on the deal, BUT we couldn't go any later than 12/12 because 12/13 starts the Advent blackout dates. So as it turned out, the number one choice for the RH drastically lowered the price and minimum starting in December, so we picked the first Saturday so it wouldn't interfere with the holidays and would still be 'Fall'.

Originally FH and I wanted a May wedding...but then we started thinking about it and decided we'd rather have amazing tans for our wedding so we decided on September. I like even numbers so we chose the 26th since we are getting married in an odd numbered month and year I needed something even!

I love this question! We picked our date because its the same saturday we got engaged last year (8/23). We always said we wanted to wait about a year so its our little joke that our engagement is exactly 52 weeks!

We didn't really have a choice. FH graduates June 12th. He's not allowed to marry before he graduates, and his friends have to report to training the next weekend. So, June 13th it was and is.

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
I originally wanted to have a June wedding but when we were looking to book we wound up deciding to get married on a friday to save $$.. since we are getting married in a church in the city and the reception is on Long Island we anticipate a LOT of traffic.. Because of that we decided to get married before memorial day to try to lessen the traffic we will be facing.
