Good morning ladies!! Hope everyone is enjoying this absolutely gorgeous day! The question today is, how did you pick your wedding date?
I actually became a crazy person, and checked the Farmer's Almanac back like 10 years to see the rain on the first Friday of June. No rain!! EXCEPT LAST YEAR!!!!!! HAAAA!!! So anyway, I picked June 5th hoping for no rain based on weather history. Now I couldn't care less if it was a hurricane as long as I marry my man. I should also add we were always looking for a Friday night, based on price, and wanted good weather.
How about you guys?

FH picked the date. Labor Day weekend as it turns out is pricey in the wedding world! We figure family would be more likely to take the trip with the long weekend.

We knew we both wanted summer. The day after we got engaged we went and spoke with my father, and he explained that since July 4th landed on a Saturday itd be cool and our out of towbees would have fun. On top of that, I knew with wanting summer I'd be out of luck for a good 3 weeks because of the Jewish holiday tishabuv! Its a holiday for 3 weeks in July this year that you can not be married! So we agreed on the 4th!

We OFFICIALLY started dating on June 2nd, we wanted that to be our wedding date, however, that was last year and we couldn't afford to get married last year...or this year for that matter ...so we thought the first saturday in June would work for us!

I wanted summer, end of summer. Actually I wanted Sept, but I couldn't really do that now that I want to be a teacher (with high hopes of having a job in the fall). So I went to LE and found out which Sat nights were available and picked the one I liked best. Of course afterwards we had TONS of date drama. So far it has been the most difficult part of planning and the only part I cried tears over. But we are still going with that original August 8 date.

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
i always knew i didnt want a hot summery wedding. i just hate to sweat and i get a little nasty when im hot. the thought of being a sweaty bride made me angry hahahaha. then i went to a wedding in jamaica and the heat during the ceremony and reception really solidified that for me. then like 5 mins after i got my ring... the color royal blue popped into my head. i seriosuly never thought of it before... and then i started to invision a wintery look and feel to the wedding. i knew i didnt want anything christmasy or near christmas.... so the next best month to get the winter feeling and still have the possibility to maybe spend some time outdoors was November. I didnt want to be too close to thanksgiving or my bday wich is nov 21 so we settled on the firs weekend of november. october was out for us... thats too fall for my winter theme... dont think i could have gotten away with my winter theme in october the way i can kinda swing it with november. Some places were trying to sell me on teh idea of getting married on my bday... but i wasnt having it! hahahaha! so november 6th it is with a winter theme!

Love this question!!
I always knew we wanted to get married in July of this year. At first I thought it would be really fun to do 7/4 since it's a big holiday and all, but my FH is born on 1/1 (new year's baby!) and asked me if we could not make our anniversary a holiday as well -- he wanted a day that was special just for us, since he never got to experience that when it comes to his birthday.
I thought 7/11 would be neat because it's like the store and easy to remember... then I realized the next weekend was 7/18...
I've lived in Brooklyn 8 years now since college and the area code here (as you all know) is 718. After the wedding, we're moving to NC (where FH already lives since last year) so I thought it would be super fun to take a little of Brooklyn with me. It's where FH and I 'courted' (for lack of a better term) and where I did all my maturing into a real adult (ha ha)... And so, 718 will be with us forever.

We picked our date because it was available- We originally wanted 9/5 the Sunday of Labor Day weekend but it was already booked! FH has his own business so we have to have the wedding during his slow time mid Aug. - Mid Sept.

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
We wanted a Saturday evening during summer '09, but we didn't want to do it during the 'dog days', so we looked at dates in the early and late summer. 8/29 was FH's grandmother's birthday, so that's the date we chose.

Re: **QOTD 4/16**
We went RH shopping the day after Thanksgiving and when we got to the Inn it was already decorated for Christmas. Once we saw how beautiful it was FH and I decided that we wanted to get married during the Christmas season. However, the only Dec date that was open was the 26th. So, our day was kind of chosen for us!
Had it not been for the decorations we'd be getting married next March. :)
