Happy Saturday! It's beautiful I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Now onto the question:
What traditions during your wedding are you keeping and what are you and your FH doing that is going against traditions?
Staying with tradition- we are still doing a unity candle and readings even though we are getting married at the venue. We also are doing he bouquot toss/ cake cutting/ first dances etc.
Against tradition - we aren't having our wedding in a church so we are doing a reveal. Also my mom and dad will be walking me down the aisle it is important to me that both of them do it (though the dance will be just me and daddy)!
I'm looks forward to hearing all the wonderful things you brides are doing if they are traditions or if you are starting a new tradition!

We're trying to buck tradition wherever possible.
We're not getting married in a church
We're seeing each other before the ceremony for the reveal
We're spending the night together the night before
We're most likely having his friend ordained to marry us instead of using usual clergy
Tradition: I'm being walked down the aisle by my brother instead of walking alone (2nd marriage, and I think it would be fitting to walk alone)
We will be having a reading, although not scripture. I'm trying to find a poem that fits the occasion.

We aren't going against tradition at all. Unless you count my mom giving me away as against tradition. I've been waiting for this for a long time and I wanna do eveything the way I imagined it.

Keeping: we are going to be announced and cut the cake and have our first dance. we also are having a bridal party which for FH is something that normally isn't a part of wedding tradition. we're also not seeing one another before the ceremony and not spending the night before together. also my dad won't be walking me down the aisle
Not having: dances with mother/fathers.. my dad wont be around and FH isn't used to traditions and doesn't understand why he would dance w his mom which is all good because we juts want more time for everyone to enjoy! we're not tossing the flowers or doing the garter either..

We are traditionalists so we are keeping everything that way!! Full Mass, Stepfather walking me down the aisle, readings, unity candle, pictures following ceremony, bubbles, first dance, dance with my stepfather, memorial ceremony for FMIL who has passed, garter, bouquet toss, cake cutting, & whatever else I forgot!

We are getting married at the hall, which is less traditional then church. There won't be any formal traditions in the ceremony other than rings and vows (we're thinking short and sweet! Lol) we also plan to have a reveal which is becoming more common but still not traditional.
We still want the Traditional cake cutting and bouquet/garter toss. We will also do the first dance/parents dances to keep with Tradition.

We're doing the cake cutting and first dance, having a flower girl but no ring bearer. We're getting married at a courthouse 3 days before the venue ceremony/reception, doing a reveal, skipping the bouquet toss and garter, and parent dances. My mom is walking me down the aisle, a few friends will do readings (poetry), I'm writing our ceremony, and my brother will act as the officiant. And I'm fairly sure I'll be wearing cowboy boots even though it's not a country or rustic wedding.
We are overall keeping to tradition except we will not be doing the bouquet/garter toss (which is becoming less common these days, I think). We are also planning to dance together with his niece and nephew to 'You've Got a Friend in Me' to make it official that I am their aunt.

I think we're keeping every tradition except throwing the bouquet and garter toss. I'm not down with that, and I'm pretty sure I won't even be able to fit a garter underneath my dress.

We are not doing many of the traditions... We are doing a first dance, speeches, mother/son dance.
Non-Traditional getting married at the hall reveal & photos before ceremony my brother-in-law is walking me down the aisle no garter or bouquet toss no cake cutting (likely doing cupcakes instead of cake)

We are having a church wedding with a full mass, I am having my dad walk me down the aisle. We will also be doing the father-daughter and mother-son dances, and a cake cutting.
We are planning to do a reveal before the church ceremony and get the picture taking done beforehand. We are not having a ring bearer or flower girl, and we are not doing a bouquet/ garter toss.

Traditional: We are doing the ceremony partially traditionally by incorporating religion, which we were on the fence about originally. We're also doing the cake cutting, and bouquet toss most likely.
Non-traditional: My mom will be walking me down the aisle; we will be doing a reveal; we are probably not having a receiving line or being announced by the DJ at the reception; and we will likely attend our own cocktail hour.
MY FH doesn't want to be announced at the reception since he feels like it's an awkward pep rally for the bride and groom. I don't mind being announced but I don't FH to feel awkward walking into our reception. I was wondering how you are walking into the reception if your not being announced. I'm having such a hard time figuring out what to do.

I figured since we're going to be attending our own cocktail hour, I just assumed we'd follow the crowd to our reception without any fanfare?
I having been thinking about not being introduced as well. I feel weird just walking in with the rest of the guest but I am afraid I might regret not doing it. Have any of you figured out a happy medium?

I love traditions! We are gedtting married in the church, unity candle, bouquet toss, mother/son father/daughter dance, speeches, cake cutting etc.
The only tradtion I dont think we will be doing it the garter toss. If we do, who ever catches it will get a bottle of liquor. They are not putting it on the girls leg.
