Ok ladies! Went to a bridal showcase last night and won a free wedding dress from the wedding center! I already have my dress but it feels good to be a winner :)

On a heavier note, for the QOTD, are an of you ladies concerned about 100-300 people in the same room getting along for your big day? Divorced parents, hostile or embarassing family members, or perhaps a groomsman and bridesmaid that were and no longer are! Are any of you ladies expecting uncomforatble moments or drama on the big day? Or is there a certain person you will be having your MOH watching all night to make sure they stay in the background??

My mom is divorced twice! ay yi yi.. my father probably won't even be there (which isn't the end of the world) but I'm hoping my stepfather comes with his family but they may not either due to terrible divorce drama involving my wonderful mother again. (I do love her like any daughter loves their mother but I can't say I stand behind all her choices in life) So I will definitely be watching to make sure my guests are comfortable (should they all show up) NOW my mother isn't speaking to her brother (my only uncle, we have such a small family!) and I'm expecting that to be really hard.. They're going to just HAVE to get it together by then because I don't want anyone at my wedding hiding in corners or avoiding the bar just because of another person.

As far as watching people, I will be watching FFIL! He loves to have a good time and I want to make sure he's not hanging on people all night because of too many drinks.. He is older and set in his ways but I have this projection of me being at the alter and FFIL next to me taking a picture of our first kiss, but basically being in my mouth with the camera. Needless to say I will be advising FH to tell FFIL to keep his camera at home, that's why we're paying thousands of dollars for a photographer!

ALL I know is anyone who creates drama or steps on my dress is getting the boot! :)

*PS.. if I dwell on all the things I can picture FFIL doing I literally get anxiety!!

Congrats on the free wedding dress!

I'm not really worried about anybody except maybe my mom being really loud (she's naturally loud) and trying to interfere. At my brother's wedding, she made us all leave the dance floor for 10 minutes to take a picture with our entire extended family. She wants to do the same thing at my wedding, so I'm telling my photographer ahead of time to make sure he gets that pic done BEFORE the reception. And if doesn't get done by the time cocktail hour starts, it's not getting done. End of story.

Congrats on winning the free dress!

I am not too worried about any drama at my wedding. If any of my future in-laws decide to come, that could change lol.

I'm a little nervous about my aunt (my mom's sister). She has 2 daughters who are just b***hs- they walk around thinking they're better than everyone else and it's annoying. My aunt and cousins don't know yet but I'm not having them in the wedding party. My brother didn't have them in his wedding party either and my aunts exact words to the older daughter was 'They're not having my girls in the wedding party? Wear an ivory color dress and show up the bride!' ....and my cousin wore a dress very close to white but ended up doing her make up like a drag queen and obviously did not show up my sister in law but my aunt tries to pull that with me I will have a issue.

I'm also a little nervous about FFIL. FH and FFIL didn't have the best relationship when he was growing up and they still don't. FFIL likes to criticize everything FH does/buys, etc. so if he criticizes my wedding or husband that day I will not be happy lol. He's also not the most pleasant person to be around so it's gonna be interesting!!

I'm not worried about any drama. Only inviting my immediate family to the wedding. We are having a relatively small wedding on the Chinese scale. My bro got married last fall and had 750 people..most of the guests were his and his wife's parent's friends and relatives. We are only looking at 175 max for our guestlist!

My FSIL lol. My FH has two sisters, one who is PSYCHO, and one who is very close with me. The crazy one likes to drink alot and embarrasses alot of us when she's drunk (which is often =p)... she emailed my sister (MOH) and offered to plan the bachelorette, but my sister said absolutely not, but in a nicer way! haha

My MOH and the FSIL that i get along with will be making sure she doesn't get drunk before the ceremony. After that point, I dont really care what she does, as long as she is not given a microphone at any point during that day!

My family should be pretty well behaved. My Parents are divorced but usually mind there own business. It's not a major problem but I do worry about FHs BIL who gets sloshed on every occasion and can get grabby. He is the exact reason I said no to video at the wedding. lol
Also two of the groomsmen's wives don't get a long at all, they've promised me they would behave so I'll just keep an eye out.

My parents are divorced, both families haven't been in the same room in over 18 years. Our engagement party was a big help in realizing that everyone will get along when it comes to celebrating our love!
The only thing I am worried about is my alcoholic cousin getting a little too drunk :(

T.E.R.R.I.F.I.E.D... Most importantly my father in attendance. The one he hates the most is ME. We never got along. But for the sake of family, he's on the invite list, along with his wife. My mom passed away 20 years ago, so there's no divorce issue, but my mom's family isn't happy with him. Since my mom passed, he's been nothing short of an a**hole, even remarrying on the 3rd anniversary of her death, and INVITING HER FAMILY!

That being said, I think everyone else should be ok.

I'm a little nervous but I'm hoping everyone will be on their best behavior. My mom and dad (mainly my dad) don't get along and it's very frustrating. Just act like adults for 24 hours, thats all I'm asking for. Also, I really don't want my parents significant others at my wedding because it will only stir the pot and literally everyone is giving me a hard time about it. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don't actually dislike my dad's gf, but I despise my mom's bf and I honestly think that if he was there my dad might actually punch him in the face. I really don't want to have to worry about that all night long so I thought it would be easier to cut them both from the list. Ugh. I hate even thinking about it.

Congrats on the free dress that is great.

We have some family drama. Fh parents are divorced though they have been in the same room before since it is still a little awkward for them. My plan is to have their tables on separate sides of the room. His family with him at his table to feel comfortable and her brothers and sisters at her table to make her comfortable. We have some friends that used to be friends that aren't anymore but I really am just hoping everyone can be an adult for a night and put the drama aside. We think that friend might not even come anyway which is just whatever we know who is really here for us and who isn't. I just know no matter what I am enjoying our day and having fun.

I dont think we will have any drama. There is an aunt on my mothers side who I used to be very very close with but after a HUGE fight we no longer speak. LONGGGG STORYYY Needless to say I am not inviting her. As of now I don't expect any drama BUT you never know as the time gets closer.

Hmmm I don't expect any drama at our wedding. FH's family is great, and my family loves them. I think it is going to be funny though, coz it will be a nice mix of white and brown people and mine is the first wedding in my family (I am the oldest of the cousins, sisters, etc.). I hope my side of the family likes the American food and I hope FH's side dances to the few Indian songs that will be played. Thankfully, everyone gets along and that is one aspect of the wedding that I do not have to worry about..

We have a mix too! My family is American and FHs family is from Colombia.. but our families love each other and we know everyone will dance to everything.. But I'm also excited because we are the first in our families to get married and have a big wedding :)

I'm exepcting a little drama. My uncle is remarried and I still consider his first wife my aunt so she will be at my wedding. But hopefully putting them on opposite sides of the room will help.

When I first read this post, I said 'There won't be any drama' lmao, then I remembered how certain people can act when they are drunk. My father, uncle, F(step)FIL, my cousins all enjoy drinking. My father gets drunk and can become an *** before it's no hold bars with his mouth. He also likes to give long 'lectures' about family, how much he loves me, etc. when he gets drunk. My FFIL from what I've heard likes to give speeches and has been known to make speeches at random people's events and I don't think that's even when he's under the influence lol. It should be interesting. They better just keep it civilized and not embarrass me or FH too much.
