I will be 29 when I get married and fh will be 34 so we will be not preventing after the wedding and if it doesn't happen we will actively try. I have been diagnosed with pcos since I came off the pill which I was on for a solid decade so I am a little nervous about not being able to get pregnant. Also from what I have read the window gets shorter and shorter for pcos suffers after 28. If I wasn't so worried about getting a house, paying for the wedding. I would get pregnant now lol.

I've been on the pill for about 7 years and it concerns me that it may take a while for me to get pregnant so I figure 6 months after we're married I'll get off the pill and whenever it happens after that it happens! I'll be 26 when we get married so it'll be a surprise after that!
this! some people tell me you can get pregnant quick after getting off the pill, and others say the opposite. not sure if i should give my body a break leading up to the wedding and get it out of my system, or wait until after!
I'm in the same boat as you ladies except I'll be 25 when we get married. I'm waiting 6 monts then detoxing my body since it worries me to be on anything that long. I've heard conflicting reports too, so weird! I think we'll just have fun and see what happens lol but if nothing happens in a year I'll probably start actively trying. Ideally it'll be a year and half to two years post wedding, I want to be done by 30 or 31.
My OBGYN told me my highest chances are immediately after you stop taking the pill - like right away is when you are the most fertile. Then if you wait, it could take some time for your body to adjust.
I didnt know this. I am in the same boat I have been on the pill since I was 18. I will be 28 when I get married so I was going to stop taking my pill maybe a year after we get married and see what happens but if I'm going to have the highest chance of getting pregnant right after I stop or some time after I guess I have to figure which I would prefer lol

We don't really have a plan, so we'll just wing it and see what happens.. Ideally I would like to wait 2-3 years to save up a bit, but IMO you NEVER have enough money, and if I wait until I have enough $$ I'll be too old to have kids lol, so I'm just not gonna stress about it and just let it happen when it's meant to happen

Ps: my mom is the manager in labor and delivery at a nearby hospital, and she swears that the pill is the reason for so much infertility- She has always said that the ones who are consistently on it for over 7-8 years become infertile. I have never been on the pill, nor will I ever go on it. I would suggest to all of you who have been on it for an extended period of time get off of it and prevent getting pregnant the old fashioned way!

One of my dearest friends went off of the pill right before (1 month) her wedding so she could get her body cleared out and used NFP..and guess who was pregnant at her wedding..lol its ok she was only barely pregnant and now they just had their second! I guess its hard no matter what you do to 'perfectly plan' it! lol
edited for spelling!

Yeah that's true- I know a few people who got pregnant right after they got off the pill, but i think that after that first month it can take awhile. Everyone is different though, so i guess you never know!

In hopes that we have a home by the time we get married, I'd LOVE a honeymoon baby. We are kind of up in the air because we have so much travelling that we want to get done before babies!

Ooh wow! Never knew that..I have been off the pill for almost 2 years now..not because of babies but because every pill I took would get me sick, and I hated the feeling so I just stopped it completely

We plan on trying right away, even a few weeks before our wedding may happen. We have been together over 7 years and in our house for almost 5

We would like to start trying for a baby about a year or two after the wedding. Ideally I'd like to be done with kids by the time I'm 30-32(MAX) and I'd like two of them. Preferably twin boys so I can be done in one shot lol. I'll be 26 at the wedding and FH will be almost 31 so I'd like to be pregnant by the age of 28.
I currently have an IUD so really the decision of a child needs to be really thought out and more so 'planned' than just stopping the pill.

I heard the same thing!. Actually, I heard that you have a greater chance of having twins when you try to have a baby right after getting off the pill. Supposedly your ovaries go in overdrive since they haven't ovulated when on the pill.

This question really scares me. I will be 28 when I get married. I have PCOS and it gets really hard to get pregnant as you get older. I have also been on the pill for 2 years now, not out of choice but because it was prescribed for me because I needed to regulate my periods and treat the health problems I had associated with them. I am also in grad school, and we won't know where I get a permanent job until 2016. I guess FH and I will see a fertility doctor soon after we get married. This topic has been the cause of a lot of anxiety for both of us
