Good morning all & Happy Hump Day!! So FH & I had a talk about kids a few days ago..So this made me think for todays QOTD..
Now that you're getting married, the inevitable 'next step' always seems to be the question 'when are you having kids?' Will you start right away? Are you going to plan your family or let it be a happy surprise?
We ideally would like to wait 1 year and then start the kids process to enjoy being newlyweds for at least 1 year. Of course there is always 'surprises' life throws at you, and I could have some honeymoon babies LOL but whatever happens I will be very happy.

We plan to start right after the wedding.lol. We both want to start a family as soon as possible since we both love kids and my clock is ticking..lol!

We are going to 'not prevent it' right after the wedding. But if some time goes by without anything happening, we will have to start actively trying.

I'd like it to be a happy surprise in about 4-5 years hahha. I just turned 25, and FH is 28. I don't want to have kids too soon after we get married. I want to be selfish with FH! I'd like to wait until I'm 29-30 to start.

I will have to hide from FH right after the wedding..he is dead set on a honeymoon baby lol. I would prefer to wait until we have a house or at least have a plan of when/where we are moving. Maybe wait a year or so, then try. I do want kids, and even though I'll be 30 when I get married I'm not in a rush.

We would like to wait 1 year because I definitely want my first kid before 30. I told him if I turn 29 and we don't have our first baby we are doing it until it happens! lol but we are also trying to relocate to Florida and buy a home but I think our 'plan' will work out
I'd like to wait a year before starting. I want to be finished having kids by the time I'm 32, which means we wouldn't be starting to try until I'm 29. So I'm not giving myself much wiggle room.

I've been on the pill for about 7 years and it concerns me that it may take a while for me to get pregnant so I figure 6 months after we're married I'll get off the pill and whenever it happens after that it happens! I'll be 26 when we get married so it'll be a surprise after that!

this! some people tell me you can get pregnant quick after getting off the pill, and others say the opposite. not sure if i should give my body a break leading up to the wedding and get it out of my system, or wait until after!

FH & I are probably going to wait a couple of years. I will be 27 and FH will be 28 so we are thinking of starting to try at 29-30ish. We really want to have married time and not rush right into kids. We also want to get situated in terms of buying a house.

I'm in the same boat as you ladies except I'll be 25 when we get married. I'm waiting 6 monts then detoxing my body since it worries me to be on anything that long. I've heard conflicting reports too, so weird! I think we'll just have fun and see what happens lol but if nothing happens in a year I'll probably start actively trying. Ideally it'll be a year and half to two years post wedding, I want to be done by 30 or 31.

LOL I can't with the honeymoon baby idea!! My FH & our good friend joke around about having honeymoon babies so our kids can be the same age (they're getting married in Feb) LOL

I plan to wait a year after the wedding but I already told FH that I'm going to stop taking the pill 8 months after the wedding to cleanse my body. Although, I did ask my OBGYN about this and he said people can get pregnant right away after they stop the pill so who knows!

I'll be 31 tomorrow and 32 when we get married. I'm at the point where if I were newly pregnant at the wedding I wouldn't be upset. But we are shooting for a honeymoon baby. Fh tells everyone if I didn't promise my mom I'd be the kid to get married first and then have a baby (two of my brothers had the baby first) then wed already have one. And that's true.

I would like to wait at least 1-2 years after the wedding. But at the time that we get married it wil be over 8 years that I've been on the pill. I will probably decide to stop taking it sooner since I'm a little worried about taking it for so long!

We're definitely going to wait at least 4-5 years since we're both 25. We're both 3-4 years into our careers right now and would like to establish ourselves a bit more (and more $$$.. lol!) before children come along!

Reading this thread was fun! Babies are so exciting! We are not opposed to trying right away. Because of some medical issues the sooner I get pregnant after I stop my pill the better. So once that happens we are hoping things move quickly! :)Probably trying within the year after the wedding.
