Good morning all & Happy Thursday!! So last night FH & I were looking thru the shutterfly book we got for our engagement dinner and all the pics from the beginning of our relationship till now, and this made me think of todays QOTD..
Where did you and your FH go on your first date and what details about that date do you remember?
I'm pretty good with remembering the little things, our first date was at a café in Astoria..he picked me up and it was a little awkward at first because it was the first time being alone since the week before is when I met him at a bar in the city thru a mutual friend. But conversation got flowing real quick, I remember he was fasting for Easter, so I ordered a fruit salad since that was the only thing on the menu that he was able to have, and he appreciated that. After that it went from seeing each other once a week, then all his days off and then sleeping over each others houses & then moving in together, and the rest is history!

We went to a restaurant called duffys in staten island and then walked on the boardwalk. Fh would have proposed on the boardwalk if sandy didn't destroy it.

The first time we met we watched 40 Year Old Virgin...but our first REAL date was to Red Lobster...he asked me my favorite restaurant then proceeded to tell me how ghetto I was!
Our first date... we went out for sushi and then the original plan was to go play monster mini golf. However. we ended up spending so much time talking at the sushi restaurant.. that when we were ready to head over to the monster mini golf... it was gonna be closed.
So he asked me if I was up for an adventure and if I had ever seen the raptors out east. I said 'Sure. but my mom just asks that when you kill me.. leave my tattoos alone so she'd be able to identify my body' (we met online and this is always my running joke with online dating) He thought I was hysterical.
The next thing I know... we're driving out east and he showed me the Raptor... which was a statue at a stone store on the way out to montauk. We then just kept driving. We were behind a car that we were CONVINCED was getting road head LOL
Our first date ended up being like.. 9 hours in total. When I finally got home I texted my best friend and said to her 'We just spent like 9 hours together and we had the best time and I don't want to kill him. I'm marrying this guy'
He didn't even kiss me after because according to him.... he 'didnt get the signal'.
it was allllll down hill from there.

Well, I was sooooo nervous for our first date, and it was weird, coz that never happens to me, but I knew I really liked this guy from the first time I picked him up at a bar (I was drunk, he was cute lol!). We had our first date at that same bar in Port Jefferson. He was supposed to pick me up at my dorm room in Stony Brook, but his GPS navigated him to Stony Brook stadium. So he's 30 minutes late, and I decided to call him. He asks me, ' You don't happen to live at the stadium, do you?' Hahaha turns out he was driving around campus but didn't call me coz he thought he would find the place on his own. Men!
So then I had to give him directions to Port Jeff, but I was just so nervous, that I kept saying left instead of right lol. The date itself was great, he happened to mention his love for Wendy's and how he didn't have one for miles around him. So I then took him to Wendy's at Stony Brook, and we ended the night drinking and talking for hours at John Harvard's Brewery in Lake Grove.
Oh also, he kept pulling up his pants coz he was so nervous he forgot to wear a belt, so we stopped by the Smith Haven mall to buy him a belt.
Needless to say, we kept making each other laugh all night, and it was awkward and awesome at the same time

I've loved reading these stories. FH and I met online, and I stood him up TWO times before we met because I was so nervous to meet this random guy. We met at a Starbucks (as noted above, the obligatory safe place to meet when meeting online). We wound up taking a 4 hour drive around Manhattan. I definitely know I didn't shut up for a second due to nerves. We both agree there was something really special that night! I remember how excited I was to talk to him again. He texted me 2 minutes after dropping me off and asked when we were going to hang out again. I'm pretty sure we saw each other most nights and weekends after that first date!

FH and I met at a wedding.... we had an amazing night together and I could go on and on about details from that night, but I don't consider that our first date. Our first date was 3 days later! He wore a navy blue button down and I wore one of my favorite purple tops. I remembered to wear heels bc he was tall and I wanted to be at perfect kissing height! haha
He drove 2 1/2 hours down from his house in CT for our date and when he got to my house I offered to drive us to the restaurant since he didn't know the area. We went to Press 195 in RVC and the funniest part of the night was that once we sat down at our booth he realized that he had left his wallet in his car... which was back at my house! He had taken it out of his back pocket bc it was uncomfortable for the 2+ hour drive... I didn't care bc I could tell he was legitimate. Needless to say it is STILL something we joke about to this day!
At the end of the date we went back to my apartment and made out like teenagers haha then he drove all the way back home around midnight!! We had to wait a week and a half before our next date since we lived so far apart, but we skyped every single night until then. Needless to say, the rest is history!
We eat at press in RVC every week!!! Lol small world

We met online ... We had plans to go out on a Thursday to a restaurant type place in the area (we grew up a town apart!!) and through talking and texting it was a Sunday and we decided to move the date up and go bowling at RVC lanes.. I had been at my parents house and I wasn't date ready but I liked the shirt ny sister was wearing and I literally 'took the shirt from her back' and went as-is.. I remember thinking 'oh he's so much cuter in person!!' (Online pics he wasn't my 'type') and we bowled three games.. I think I beat him at two. Then we weren't ready to part so we walked to Ralph's ices then sat in his car for a long time just talking. When we said goodbye that night he asked me if we were still in for Thursday.. Setting up out second date before the first was even over!!

Our first date was at The View in Oakdale. We had dinner even though we had coffee there because we were talking so much we went to Milk and Sugar in Bayshore for dessert and more coffee. He didn't tell me until the end of the date that it was his birthday.
