FH picked my engagement ring out all on his own! All I told him what I wanted was a round diamond for it to pop! He did an amazing job.
For my wedding ring we have to talk to the jeweler FH got my ring from to see what we could do. I would like the band to be a little thicker because my engagement band is thin!

I had two styles picked out- I got my finger measured and gave him pictures of both styles I liked. I then put them in an envelope and wrote him the size and wrote on the outside 'open when ready' I was not discreet I had been waiting 10 years!! Needless to say he did it great job and I was completely surprised
As far as wedding band goes I want an eternity band with diamonds on every side :)

I didn't have anything to do with it. FH and I went to see a Broadway play a few years back and when we had time to kill he suggested walking around the diamond district. I don't know anything about diamonds so I picked out a rectangular stone I liked, the guy wrote the name down on a card and apparently he kept it for the two years before he bought the ring! I know I had mentioned in passing that I loved the look of two smaller stones on the side of the larger stone because that's the way my mom's ring is but it was never something I stressed. I love my ring and couldn't have asked for a more perfect design my taste!!

I had absolutely nothing to do with the picking of my ring. Truth is, I was sort of afraid I would 'jinx it' if I looked... plus, I didn't think it would happen for another year, so I figured I had time!
Truth is, he did an AMAZING job and as long as the ring was coming from him I would have been happy with anything!
