QOTD 7-16-13

SO SORRY ABOUT YESTERDAY! I was so incredibly busy at work I didn't really get a chance to read the boards that well. I completely missed this!

So, lets dive into the QOTD

What input has your FH put into the wedding that you absolutely adore? Conversely, what input has you saying 'W T F?!?!?'

I love that FH has opinions just about everywhere but the flowers. I love that he went dress shopping with me and told me what he liked and didn't. And I love that he's so involved in how our reception will look. He even made the table numbers!

My W T F moment came a couple of weeks ago. I want to hire a graphic designer for place cards (only if it's in the budget - or I'm scrapping this idea). I love the idea of each place card as a ticket to CitiField (mets themed wedding here). FH said, 'Nah, I can do that!' ...really, dude?... *blank stare for 10 seconds* I'd rather have generic ones I make that morning from Staples than have him try this. I love him, but let's leave the creativity to the experts, shall we?

FH helped me picked out colors.

W T F is how many of his friends he wants to invite. People he hasn't seen in over 10 years really don't need to come.

FH has become better at giving input then he was in the beginning, he would just nod and agree with whatever I said and then in the end admit he didn't like the choice (like when we picked our colors!) lol
Our Venue was his top choice, and so was the date and DJ so he has had his hand in many major choices and I'd have to say, he has great taste! lol

My *** moment was when we were discussing Invitations, and how pricey they can be, and what we could do to keep cost down. He's like 'Can't we just buy the ones at the store and you can write in all the details?' oh like the Baby's 1st Birthday ones with Time______ Date_____ Where _____ hahahahh. He was serious. Although I love that he has super confidence in my DIY skills that I could some how make that invite work, I explained to him that was NEVER going to happen lol

FH hasn't really had much input so far. He gave his opinions at our food tasting and, if I ask him about something I want to do (like the whiskey ceremony), he'll give a simple answer. But that's about it.

My *** moment came when he saw our venue for the first time and said it looked like a 'stuffy home for old rich people.' I nearly cried lol.

FH Really had alot of input in the RH and we went with his choice for DJ, seeing as the guy does all his family functions. He was disappointed that our first idea for a dream location would not happen but sticking with the 'on the water/beach' theme he quickly came up with a back up plan that was even cheaper than our original idea and we are both very happy with. Now he is being the typical 'whatever you want/ yea thats cool, nah not a good idea ' to all the other planning options.

My *** moment is when my mom said to him she would not come if we had a Walking Dead themed wedding cake.. (we love busting her chops) He got it in his head to put action figures of our favorite characters on the cake table.. SO not happening!!

FH has been involved for every step which I love. He has opinions about everything, luckily we have similar tastes. I loved when I showed him a picture of my dream floral centerpiece, and he was like 'that's cool.' lol. I never would have expected that.

Not sure I have had a *** moment yet. We will see! lol

The one thing that FH REALLY wanted was the Phantom for my dad and I to go to the church in and for us to drive away in after…at first I said no way because it's more than the cost of our party bus but his eyes lit up like a little kid on Christmas morning and I didn't have to heart to say no. We booked that like six months ago and he still shows his friends pictures of the car when we're out lol. Boys and their toys!!!

I can honestly say that I don't think there has been anything ridiculous that he's mentioned in terms of the wedding. We have almost 300 people, but most of it is my family. The closest thing was him inviting everyone in his part at work except for one girl that he can't stand, I'm forcing him to invite her because otherwise working with her will be an even bigger nightmare for him after the wedding and I just wouldn't want her feelings to be hurt being the only one not invited.

He's literally been involved in every aspect of the wedding. Sometimes he thinks I'm a little nutty with ideas and brings me down to earth (and then I realize maybe I am a little nutty).

My W T F moment has also been him wanting to invite EVERYONE HE KNOWS! 'Oh but I played cards with him 5 years ago'...or his friends parents, I'm not talking best friends parents..I'm talking just his friends parents. It's so strange to me and not happening!

FH is kinda whatever with most things. He wants in on every detail but we've agreed on mostly everything so far!

The few things that are like W T f!!? for me are that he feels the need to invite 'friends' he doesn't even speak to anymore...like really!?

FH has some totally creative ideas. I wanted to give people a little 'special treat' when they leave our venue so FH came up with the idea of a bag of mixed nuts for their drives home. I asked what we should write on the label and he just smiled and said 'That party was nuts!' Genius!

The W T F moment was when he suggested we have a giant E-party and a small wedding.
That or when he told me he wanted to play Wu Tang at the wedding.

I'm so happy that my FH introduced me to LIW and Pinterest otherwise I would have been so lost! He's been pretty good in being organized and helping me get organize with the wedding planning.

My *** moment was when I told him I defin don't plan on wearing a white wedding dress and he was like so shock and said I had to wear white for it's traditional. Then I told him he needs to get with the program, Ivory is in..lol

FH has been pretty good so far and I have a good handle on the things he does and doesn't want to be involved in..I was a little surprised that he felt SO strongly about booking our dj (which I was on the fence about).. I knew music would be a big deal to him but I still don't see what it is that he was seeing in them (I am happy with our dj choice I just couldn't believe he was so over the moon)

My only W T F moment so far has got to be when we were discussing guests and his theory is 'well they will give us money'... I explained to him that yeah, most people give you money but you still have to pay for their food! And it shouldn't be about who gives you what (oh, boys)

My fh hasn't really been involved so much with the planning and picking of vendors. After I picked the dj he got right on that spreadsheet and started filling in songs and what we could use them for.

Te @&$ moment we have had a few. He doesn't understand me wearing ivory at all be also doesn't understand how things need to be planne so much in advance. And he is opposed w high centerpieces. Not flowers but haut that thy are high! I'm like really I was planning to do high and low to keep cost down

FH doesn't have too much input but he listens when I want to bounce ideas off of him. He did come on the venue search, DJ & limos. He knows i will plan everything perfect & just wants me to be happy.

i haven't really had a W T F moment that I can recall. We have been trying to come up with wedding songs and he thinks hes funny and will suggest things like 'Ignition by R. Kelly' or 'put it on me by ja rule'

If only he put in as much thought into the actual song as he did when he thinks of ridiculous ones.

FH has been involved in EVERY detail. He really wanted a big wedding where I would have definitely done something smaller so he is totally into it. He has been to all the vendors with me and every decision we have made together. I adore his dedication.

Hmmm the only W T F moment was when FH suggested entering into the Star Wars theme and I at first was SOOO against it but now I am surprising him with that song as our entrance song along with light sabers being held my our BP to form the arch when we walk in. He has no idea and will definitely appreciate it and love it. Gotta love his idea turning into my surprise haha

FH has just been great with all aspects of the planning. He found The Venue and has come to every appointment.

No W T F moments yet. I'm sure he wouldn't say the same about me though.

FH has helped the perfect amount. He gives great feed back but he won the battle of having a big wedding when I wanted to elope or have something super intimate, SO I think he's really letting me take it from here :)

for a W T F moment I know I have had them but can't think of any now lol

FH thinks we should enter into our reception with the Darth Vader (Imperial March) playing.. LOL.. I am considering it.. But in his head it is all light sabers and everything. so you are making my FH dream almost come true too! LOL

FH is really helpful with the creative side of things. I really like having his input on what looks nice.

My W T F moment was when FH said we had to invite our bosses to the wedding - we haven't even started our jobs yet. :face palm:

FH has been really helpful with the music choices and being so picky about the photographer. He also pretty much just 'yes's me to death about whatever I want.

My W. T. F. moment... was when he suggested applebees for the rehearsal dinner.... to which I gave into.

The man is giving me the wedding of my dreams. He can have applebees for the rehearsal dinner.
