I think about the future all the time stressing and feeling a bit anxious. I try to imagine what things will be like in 20/30/40 years: where we would end up living, what we will name our kids, what kind of extra activities we will drive them to, who will they look like, how far will we both get in our careers, etc etc etc.... But one thing that always makes me smile is thinking about, and it is today's Q:
What you and FH will be like as a couple when you're old and gray? Same, totally different, will develop quirkiness?
So me and Geremie will be the Odd Couple - quirkiness all the way! We will bicker and tease each other all the time. He will be the one that makes all the mess, light and easy going about 'important' things that I will care deeply about like 'keeping everything in its own place, and God help anyone that moves them an inch'. He will want to watch TV in peace and quiet and just relax and I will nag him to death that we haven't been anywhere in months so he has to take me out - NOW ! I will be the one arranging everyones get togothers: birthday, anniversaries, fun family BBQ's and FH will be extremely grumpy that he has all of this extra sh!t to do. Thus his expression at me will be at all times. Honestly, we will be even worse with our quirks than we are right now! Oy!
But, ultimately I know for sure that we will love each other till our last days: we're each others BFFs as the Odd Couple were

I'm convinced that we will be just like Marie and Frank Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond. Bickering and teasing each other, but never losing sight of our love deep down inside. That's kind of how we are now.......we're constantly teasing each other. But we both know that it's out of love

I hope to be like my parents and my grandparents. My parents who are almost married 30 years and my grandparents who will be married 60 years bicker over silly things but 10 seconds later are showing their love for each other.

to be perfectly honest I really cant picture what we'll be like in 20/30/40 yrs but i hope our love continues to grow for each other and our relationship will always be a caring nurturing one

I agree completely. I think we will be exactly like Marie and Frank Barone. We will bicker and make fun of eachother. (Probably about his hearing loss and my bad driving or something haha)

We are very much like Carrie and Doug from King of Queens (also Fh's favorite show). She is scarcastic and kinda crazy, and he is funny and more low key, even though he certainly has his antics.
I believe we will be a lot like them. Me the worrier him the dreamer. Me the bossy at times type, him the freak out and get over it quick kinda guy.
I know it sounds dysfunctional but it is us, we love eachother as they do, and always will!

my grandparents were married over 50 years before my grandmother pass away and they were just as in love, if not more, as the day they got married. I remember they would always give each other little kisses or just start dancing together. It was so cute and i really hope that FH and I will be like that when we have been married for 50 years

ITA!!! A few weeks ago i saw an add for a senior living community...and i asked FH what he thought about that? IDK. it kinda looks like it could be fun FH was kinda like , but he didnt say no...so i guess we will see where our life takes us
But one thing i want to do....when we both retire we will take a BIG TRIP!! like at least a month away. I figure if we cant go away for 1-2 months for HM, the next time is retirement....and knowing the crazy travel-wisher i am...this would be the type of trip that i would plan for the next 20/30/40 years. hahahaha
