I'm excited to take his name..but sad to lose mine. My name just flows right with my last name and with his it sounds kind of wierd haha But now people with actually believe that i am part italian ( because i dont look it at allll)

I am so incredibly happy about my name change. My entire life I have had an Asian last name AND I'M NOT ASIAN! I'm not prejudice or anything, one of my BMs is Taiwanese, it's just been such a pain in the butt to explain to literally every single person I've ever met (I'm really not lying about that) why my name is Asian when I am not. And then about 75% of the time I explain it they are still confused. My dad has a stepfather and he changed his last name when he was a kid. How is that so difficult to get?

My mom is Polish and Russian and my dad is Puerto Rican. FH is Italian, German, and Polish. His last name is Italian, and ironically enough my dad's original last name was Italian because his family came from there hundreds of years ago before they went to Puerto Rico. So in reality I'm getting a last name that much better describes my heritage.

All of this besides the fact that I love that FH and I will be a family and having the same last name will really solidify that for us.

I am happy and a little sad as well that I am changing my last name. It makes me happy that I am going to be taking FH's name. Also, my last name will be shorter (12 letters to 8 letters). It's funny when people ask me my last name and I have to spell it out because no one EVER knows how to spell it. I wouldn't hyphenate my name because then it would be 20 letters. It makes me sad because I am changing the name that I've had all of my life. Closing one chapter and starting a new one!

NOW YOU CAN COMBINE THE 2 LAST NAMES & CREATE A NEW ONE. THATS A LITTLE CRAZY I THINK. LOL. I'M TAKING FH 'S LAST NAME BUT I ALWAYS TEASE HIM THAT IM NOT. LOL.

I am just sort of 'adding' FH's last name to my name already. So my full legal name is going to be long! But I am not hyphenating it. For some reason, FH felt like if I hyphenated it then I wouldn't really be taking his last name. So I am just plopping it on the end!

I'm changing my last name to his. It's no big deal for me, just a different Irish last name

I would like to name my first daughter my maiden name though. I think that would be a cute way of keeping it going.

I am going from a VERY Italian name with 10 letters to a VERY Irish name. My new name will be Michele McCann. I am a little sad because I love my strong Italian last name and my family is well known. I am going to miss that. I want to hyphenate my name and FH is really pissed about it. I mean, why do we have to change our name? I have my Dad's last name and I want our kids to have their Dad's last name so I would just want to keep my name and take his.

I'm going from a very Irish name, Maureen McD____ to a very Spanish last name. I plan on taking his name. Although it really doesn't flow very well but I'll get used to it.

It will def be a bittersweet change.. But I think I am going to keep my last name at work, b/c its a pain the a** to go through changing everything here (certs, email ect) But on my DL and CC I will change my name... I'm going to have to work on my new signature... lol

I feel the same way... I will have it for 28 years at that point and I feel bad bc I am the only child. There will be no more of my dad's last name - plus its Italian and I love my last name

But... I do love the sound of Jennifer Kline

I don't mind changing my name, it will be kind of wierd having a new name and signing a new name but other than that it doesn't really bother me.

I think it is one of the best parts for me. I am honored to take his last name and it makes me feel like we are really becoming a family.
I happen to like his last name too, while mine is kind of long

My gf got married last year and she never changed her last name. lol. she likes hers too much!

I am 100% Italian and I feel bad changing it because my parents have firls - no boys, so the last name is dying with us (and my fam is off the boat so its kind of a big deal lol) but at the same time I am so excited to take his because he is 100% Italian too so its nice. And plus, in my family its a disgrace not to take your husbands name! lol So many old world traditions!

Its also bittersweet for me. I can't wait to be his Mrs. and change my last name, but Im also a little sad to lose mine. I love my last name! Im going to make it my middle name when we're married.

i can't hypphinate mine cause my last name is 12 letters long. i just think with his it'll be way too long. i'm going to miss my last name but i don't mind too much.
