*********QOTD 7/17/2009************

Good morning boys and girls!

So this morning I am still very very sleepy (the cleaning crew came to clean the house I'm staying at 8AM ), so sorry if my Q today is not up to par.

We are all consumed with the awesome and exciting wedding planning, BUT:

What do you guys do to relax from all the wedding planning? What are you doing to not let the wedding take over your life completely?

For us it just going out to dinner (Sushi ) and not feeling guilty that we're spending money that will be better put towards the wedding. As we see it, the wedding is far off and we still need to live and enjoy the living, so we have to do things that just let us relax and enjoy being a young couple. Otherwise we will surely end up killing each other
Lately we've been trying to do cheaper hang outs: going to the park to play freesbie, going to the club house for the pool, taking a walk by the Marina, making sure not to talk about the wedding. But this is easier to do in the Summer, so come winter I am sure will go back to going once a week to our favorite Sushi place.

i relaxed from the planning for the first 6 months. now i am in basically full planning. i currently in the process of booking videographer, photographer, band & limos. i suppose once all of this is finished i can take a break from all the craziness for a little while.

We try to take a day out of the week and not talk about the wedding and have a date night to enjoy each other's company. Also, FH has a house up in VT - so we try to go up there once a month to get away from it all and relax (going up there next weekend and cannot wait!)

Being that we have a long engagement, we did as much as we could early on, so the past 6 months I really haven't done much wedding planning-its been pretty good. Now I have to start doing the little things that are left

Well, I don't think wedding planning will ever take over FH's life completely because he's not into it like I am. So the question is how do I get away from the wedding planning....and I don't think that I do LOL. I plan at home, at work, find 'must play songs' while driving in the car. I guess to escape the wedding planning, I sleep

Every Friday since we been together is order in and just enjoy each other’s company either we play video games, board games, just sit and talk, and since we got engaged Friday nights are a wedding free night nothing wedding talk.

In the summer we also sit outside with friends have some drinks but it’s the same rules no wedding talk on fridays

since we have a longer engagement we have been doing things slowly and focusing on one thing at a time...taking our time has helped not get too stressed.

This is us too, but I seem to get stressed for a little while and then I'm ok. It's crazy, I'll freak out for a few hours and have huge fights with FH, but then the next day I'm fine and don't even care much! It's ridiculous.

I try to read or sleep when I want to stray from the wedding stuff.

Well we've been doing things one or two at a time so as not to get completely overwhelmed.

But we still let ourselves have a social life. We still get together with friends and family at least once a week, and still host our bbq's. As a matter of fact, the last two weeks had nothing to do with wedding planning.......we were trying to get our pool opened and cleaned! And we did

we still go out to eat alot, go to movies, go hang out with friends at bars. most of our appointments had been on weekday evenings, so the weekends (so far) are relatively wedding-free.

To be honest, the wedding isn't stressing me out...so I don't feel the need to relax or take a break from it. If the process isn't enjoyable, then IMO it's not worth it.
I also just view it as throwing one big party. It's not the be-all, end-all for us. Just the beginning! Viewing it in that way = less stress right then and there.
Yes, it's a special day. But there's no need to get all twisted over it. Not for me, anyway!

I haven't really planned anything in the last 3 months. I take breaks here and there to unwind and just deal with other things in my life.

We go out to dinner, or a movie. Sometime we go for a walk or just drinks. Sometimes we just turn off the computer and watch a movie. It depends.

Ummm yea I give into it... lol... I relax but I enjoy it so I never really like to take a break from it. I know it sounds corny but I havn't felt the need to yet
