Re: ~*~*~QOTD 7/20/10~*~*~*~

So far i would not consider myself a bridezilla... then again i really havent made my mind up with anything so there is nothing for me to really go crazy over yet.....

Then again if my BMs continue to act the way they have been acting lately... i might have to go bridezillas on their A**es sooner rather than later.....

when i was engaged once before, i was a total bridezilla. i couldn't stand myself. lol.

this time around, maybe because i know what to expect, and i have grown as a person and my relationship with my FH is so much better, i have such a laid back attitude.

I have had my moments, but I think it's more me getting frustrated at the incompetence/uncooperativeness of others, when the things I'm asking for aren't rocket science. I get that the world doesn't revolve around my wedding, but I'm not asking people for their kidneys.

I hear ya!!!!!!!!!

i really don't think I've been but I'm very set on wanting a second dress for the reception and I was complaining about it b/c my mom told me no and my sister called me a bridezilla. i really don't think that makes me one. I just want one...wah

Re: ~*~*~QOTD 7/20/10~*~*~*~

HMM I like to think if my mother wasn't involved then there'd really be no issues but i often find myself telling my mother its my wedding and I'll do what I want, for example back when I was dress shopping, I only took my mother (because she was paying) but I would try on a dress, and my mother would be like 'eh its just okay' well what if i loved that dress?, this is why I didn't want to bring anyone with me, because i really don't care about other peoples opinions, I'm not overweight so its not like anything could look horrible on me, I'm sure one could look better than another but did my mother really need to say 'ehhh' about a dress I could potentially love. Also another issue with mom, my moms all about the budget and like saving money wherever possible, where as my moms paying for the RH so she can do that, but when it comes to everything else that I'm paying for, I think if im already spending 10k why not spend another 3 to get everything I want. So I'm always telling her I'll do what I want, but its a mom thing, more than bridezilla, I think?!!

oh and one more thing....sometimes I complain about my bridesmaids and I tell my mother if they pull some shady **** I'm gonna lose it and tell em off, and my moms just like ohh be nice, just ignore it, and yea i get bridezilley because theres one time in your life its supposed to be all about you and when other people try to make it about them, it makes me maddd!! haha

I think I have been quite a nice bride to be. I have not had any bridezilla moments, but maybe that is because I have basically got everything I wanted so far.

Hmmmmmm oh wait wait... I did have to get a little bit fiesty the first time we went bridesmaid shopping- which I agree is probably going to be the worst. I think most of my girls will be pretty go with the flow- but some are very opinionated and I think they may give me a little bit of a hard time. I will try my best to stay calm though because I do not really want to be a bridezilla.

Oh and Jamie- so funny that you said that about getting regular dresses and not bridesmaid dresses because I was thinking the same thing! How cool would that be? I actually was looking online yesterday, but I wouldn't want them to be more expensive than a regular bridesmaid dress, ya know?

Re: ~*~*~QOTD 7/20/10~*~*~*~

I've only had bridezillaey moments with FMIL. FH and I are the ones paying for the wedding, so this means things need to be cut. Part of the reason why we picked our reception location was because they already have table decor, so we can cut back on the flowers and not have any at the reception. This saves us tons of money. FMIL is like, you have to have flowers, it's not a wedding without flowers. And we both said, Nope. Not happening. It occurred on a few other things. She then said: well you're very practical. I said: When it comes to my money I certainly am.

So if we keep FMIL away from me (she lives in another state thank god) then I will be fine. No other moments.

Yahhhhhh I'm worried about going over $200 for them, so with $500 they just may quit the wedding haha

Yes I've had bridezilla moments. One day i was telling my mom that I made an appointment to looking at a vendor. She couldn't go that day so she told me to change my appointment. I told her no i wouldn't. They proceed to scream at her that the place i wanted would be booked and then we'd have to settle for a more expensive one or one that wasnt as good. I was screaming at the end that she didn't care about my wedding and that if it was something for work she'd be all over it. Yeah not one of my best moments

Oh yeah, I feel you on this!!!!!!!!!

There was one time I cried after a showcase at WM cause I didn't like the fresh water mozzarella and truly believed that if the fresh water mozzarella wasn't up to par for me that all the food would be terrible!!! P.S. I love WMs food and the last showcase I loved the fresh water mozzarella, lol!!! Yeah, that was a little dramatic!!!!!!

Re: ~*~*~QOTD 7/20/10~*~*~*~

I think I'm fairly laid back.

2 things:

I will NOT have cheese straws at my Russo's on the Bay wedding

and when FH's cousin threw her 1 year old a first birthday party at Russo's in the same room where we're getting married, I got pissed.. because we had booked Russo's partly because FH's family hadn't used them but they HAD used every venue in Brooklyn... and now the whole family has been ro Russo's.

I got over it but it was still annoying.

I SHOULD have been more Bridezilla about our venue because of budget... FH did not realize how much everything was going to be beyond the venue... and now he's crying poor, but that's too bad now cause he wouldn't listen to me. OH WELL.

I dont think I have been a bridezilla yet. I've only been engaged for about 2 months now and my wedding is 13 months away. I can say that I can see myself becoming one. I had one moment when we were booking the place with my FIL's. I told my fiance I just wanted it to be our parents since we were going to be talking about money and prices. I specfically asked him to make sure I knew that and no siblings. Of course, when we left his sister was coming. They said she couldn't stay home alone (seriously? she's 16!) I got really mad about that but I only vented to my FH. Im sure i'll have more moments when it gets closer. I'm going to try to have a 'this is they way it is' and not care about it. I get to sign everything:)

Nope. I was MOH in April where the brides mother was the zilla, I don't know what you would call that...Momofbridezilla??
I just refuse to be that way. I just want everyone to have fun!
Now, I've only been engaged for 3 months so I can't comment on down the road, but for now I'm cool!

Im a pretty calm bride but I do have my freak out moments with the $$$ going into the savings account and FH lack of urgency over that we only have 8 MONTHS left

Re: ~*~*~QOTD 7/20/10~*~*~*~

I've had some but one I can remember is when I was talking to my mom about the guest list. I mentioned that I might invite my friends without guests to save on costs. Granted the tone of my voice might have had a slight inflection to it, but I didn't want my friends to invite people I've never seen before blah blah blah. But she set me in place before it could get worse. Bridezilla moment definitely for me...
