When you first started to think about what you wanted to wear on your special day, what type of dress did you have a vision of? A-Line, Mermaid, Ball gown? Plain, Lacey, Sparkles?
When you actually started to try them on did that stlye you had invisioned for yourself stay or did you end up going for something completely diferent?
When I went to start trying on dresses I honestly had no idea what I wanted..For the most part Im not very flashy at all.. Im plain LoL
After I started to try them on I realized what styles looked good on my body and which didnt. So I took it from there.. I ended up getting a VERY sparkly dress with lots of lace! and I LVE It!!!!!!!!!!

I knew I wanted a fuller gown - a line - with straps - but something that was kinda funky.
I the end I went super traditional but still a-line, full and with straps.... i just fell in love with it and knew that it was meant for me one of the easiest decisions i have made so far lol

Before I started looking I thought I was going to get a trumpet dress. I wanted something simple and elegant but also sexy.
The first time I went dress shopping it was for bm dresses and I had no intention of trying on any dresses. We finished picking out the bm dresses in like 15 mins so our consultant asked if I wanted to try on any gowns - there was one on display in front that caught both my mom's and my attention so I tried it on for sh*ts and giggles. Wellll that ended up being THE dress lol.
It's dropped waist with lots of ruffles on the bottom - Maggie Sottero's Jenna - nothing like what I had pictured myself in but I love it!!

I think I mostly ended up with what I thought I would. I knew I wanted A-line, with a bit of a fuller skirt. Other than that, I was really open to try things. I REALLY wanted to love a dress with pockets...and in the end...the one I tried did nothing for me. My mom saw another girl in the salon in my dress and BEGGED me to try it. At first, i was just sort of 'whatever' about it. It didn't do anything for the other girl already wearing it , but I wanted to make my mom happy so I tried it....low and behold...it was the one! Just the right amount of sparkle and fullness....it's just perfect.

Re: ~*~ QOTD 7/28 ~*~
I browsed wedding dresses a lot, even before I was engaged. Here is a list of what I was looking for: - A Line - Sparkle but not over the top - Light, flowly material, like chiffon - no satin (too heavy) - no pick-ups or pin-tucks - nothing that was all lace - nothing too form fittinrg - something that had a little extra detail to it that made it unique
As I started trying dresses on, even though I had a list of do's and don'ts for myself, I was open to trying on everything because you never know what you might like. Straight off, I knew mermaid was not for me (mostly because I couldn't get the dresses over my fat a$$! LOL). I also learned ball gown really wasn't for me either because I'm not the shortest person but I'm also not the tallest and I felt ball gown made me look kind stumpy and FH would have killed me - he said 'no big pufy dresses' lol. Then I started noticing things with ruffles more and realized that was the extra something I was going for. I started researching dresses with ruffles and came across my San Patrick with had everything I was looking for:
Light flowly material, ruffles, subtle sparkle, a-line and all for the right price.
I found the dress at a bridal store a brooklyn and the second I put it on I was sold. I couldn't even give another a dress a second look.

i always wanted mermaid. I went to the running of the brides and tried on a more fitted dress and i looked like a frump Then my sister found this gorgeous gorgeous dress and i tried it on and it was perfect!! well not the size but the look. So it ended up being an A-line (maybe more poofier??) which is completely diff from what i wanted.
so now i'm on a hunt for my reception dress. I keep getting everybody's opinion from straight, to simple to short dresses. I want a simple mermaid dress and i tried on a few and i love them! Now it's just a matter of pricing it out....sheesh, i'm not made out of $$$

When I went to try on dresses @ Kleinfeld, I had a lot of pictures of what I wanted, mostly natural waist dresses, but I wanted to try on a dropped waist because I had a feeling it might look good. I mostly wanted a dress that was all about the fabric with not too much beading.
I really loved a Lazaro dress and was super happy when I put it on, but wasn't 100% sold, then Keasha pulled me a Kenneth Pool that kind of mashed all my ideas into one, inc the drop waist. I saw it on the hanger and was like 'hmmmm, I'll try it' then put it on and it looked really good!
As I walked around the store everyone, inc other families, Randy and other consultants, told me how amazing it looked (and they'd seen the other one) so I said YTTD!

I knew my dress had to be a-line and empire waisted. I'm bottom heavy, i was going for a grecian look. I knew i didn't want a 'princess look' nothing big or poofy or too frilly. just simple and elegant.
I got exactly what i had pictured in my head. I loved it the second i tried it on.
It's me in every sense of the world. simple but elegancy and romantic with out being over the top
I love it

I have yet to go wedding dress shopping - eek!
But I like sexy, yet, traditional...I like strapless and especially like the ones that are fitted through the waist (and sometimes through the hip) and then totally poof out. I'm loving the trendy styles with the big ruffly, feathery looking bottoms. I like dramatic!!!

Re: ~*~ QOTD 7/28 ~*~
i always pictured my self in a form-fitting lace gown, either mermaid, fit and flare or sheath. i didn't want any beading- just lace.
when i started looking, i did like the lace, but i thought there was something missing. i tried on a gown that has beadwork which mimics lace and it was amazing! it had that something extra that i was looking for, but stayed with the lacey look i had imagined.
i tried on some a-line and although i liked them, i have a feeling i'll wind up in the dress i just described which is a mermaid cut.

I never pictured my wedding dress ever in my life. So when I started looking at pics I kept being drawn to the more form fitting, straight lace dresses. I knew I loved Jim Hjelm.
I thought that it was going to be very difficult for me to find a dress because I was getting married on the beach and wanted something that would be elegant but not over the top for a sandy wedding.
What I ended up with was completely different than what I was looking for and I love love love it. My grandma picked it out, which makes it even better.

when i started I wanted a taffetta drop waist with a fullish skirt, and I actually (like a retard) kept trying them on over and over, though I never really liked them when they were on, i guess I liked them in theory but they were just okay on my body, i ended up with a kind of high waisted chiffon, which I really didn't think was my style, but obv i love it, so i guess it is!
