Today's Question stems from my own experiences. This weekend, FH and I will be ateending out pre-cana. I had gone through pre-cana once before so I knew they would ask us to write love letters to each other. Once day in passing, Fh asked me what to expect from pre-cana and ever since he has beenfixated on the love letters we have to write. FH is not great at expressing himself in words and has been trying to write this letter for two weeks. Of course, yesterday I found out he hasn't done anything at all at has been procrastinating this whole time. Ant this is where we differ.
So, todays question:
What differences do you and FH have that you may have thought would be deal breakers in the beginning? Was it the type of thing you always said to yourself growing up you would try to avoid? How have you and FH gotten past these differences and resolved them? Or do you just ignore them and hope they will go away?
FH and I have no major differences that would have been a deal breaker, but I am so scattered and disorganized when it comes to little things that have to get done and he is so anal about them. I also have a very carefree attitude about things and he is way more go getter.
Enjoy your day ladies and my question! Week is halfway over!

Good question!
FH and I share all of the main important values. I think if we didn't, I couldn't marry him (i.e. wanting kids, religion, etc.)
We do differ on little things--like the fact he has no filter and tends to be ridiculously inappropriate!!

I think for me our biggest potential deal breaker was the interracial (well 1/2 interracial marriage). I come from a very traditional tremendous Italian Roman Catholic family where EVERYONE is Italian and Roman Catholic. NO EXCEPTIONS.
My FH is Roman Catholic (thank god) but he's British and Filipino, which in this day in age doesn't seem like it would be a 'problem.' At first it was awkward, especially when they first met his parents, because I thought that my family was pretty narrowminded about race/religion, etc.
But pretty naturally the 'awkwardness' has gone away. IMO I'm happy I'm taking down the race barrier. It's about da mn time!
As far as FH's personal mannerisms go, he's REALLY REALLY REALLY anal. Like, something that would take a 'normal' person 5 minutes to do, takes him an hour because he's super meticulous. He's a musician so I blame it on his 'creative mind and spirit' but it's something I've just learned to live with and expect over the past 7 years.

Re: *******************QOTD*******************
we also share a lot of our core values and beliefs but there are a few things he does that drives me NUTS!
when we fight it gets dirty, and i hate it. I always wanted to be w a man who was sweet and romatic and gave me whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, but in the end its not always roses. He is a man man and has a lot of pride and sometimes its hard for him to say sorry. I am stubborn and have diarreah of the mouth so its hard to control what I say sometimes.
Bottom line I would rather have my man man who is strong and confident who could stand up for himself, then someone who is a wuss who gets pushed around and cries every time we fight. EDIT: AND he has maaajor OCD when it comes to cleaning~ he makes me wash my hands EVERY.Single. time. i walk into the house
