QOTD 8/5/08

Good morning everyone! Today's question has to do with your wedding music.

Are you having a DJ or band? What are your 'must play' songs and what songs do you NOT want to hear?

we're having a band but haven't even started putting a list together. it also depends what our parents want to hear since they will also be singing russian songs.

We are having a dj. For our must play songs, we want ( it sounds silly) boardy barn songs like come on eileen, and living on a prayer because everyone knows the words and we are getting married memorial day weekend-how could we not haha For our do not play list....no chicken dance or macarena...anything like that.

We're having a DJ. I'm not sure what is on the Must play list I do know that I don't really want to have hip hop/rap.

DJ!!

I have a long list of songs that are MUST PLAYS some I'm not even sure the DJ will have but I have my CDs ready just in case. LOL Two of those must have songs are 'Lord of the Harvest' (a gospel song by Fred Hammond) and 'I Belong To You' (by Brian McKnight).

Must NOT PLAY? No Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne or Beyonce (except for Dangerously in Love).

FM Entertainment and Pat Davis! (DJ & Precussionist)

No chicken dance, Hokey, Pokey, etc...

Definately spanish music, and Lady in Red...it was the first slow song we ever danced to.

We're using Code Bleu! I definitely don't want any of the 'line dance songs' but with a band I think we're pretty safe. I definitely want to hear 80s rock and some dance/disco songs. I just want people to be up and dancing all night, so whatever it takes for that to happen.

We are having a DJ. Must play are a lot of 70's disco songs! DO NOT PLAY songs are:
Cha Cha Slide b.s. Is there anyone that likes this stupid song?
Macarena. It was fun when I was little but now I despise it!!!!!!!!
Chicken Dance- HELL to the NO!

DJ, but haven't booked yet. I can agree with the 'no play songs' from the many girls above me I don't want the typical 'wedding' group clap, turn, jump, slide songs ugghhh lol

dj--we basically want to stick to motown, classic disco & funk, high energy beatles (the old stuff), and other classic summer rock songs like build me up buttercup, sweet caroline, etc. there will be zero hip-hop, house, or pop dance music. there are some songs i want played at the CH. but i won't bore you with the list.

ETA: one dj is working on getting us to do the conga line, but otherwise absolutely NO group dances.

Not booked yet, but going with a DJ. None of the electric slide, chicken dance stuff, I want dance music some freestyle and FH wants some of his rock stuff.

We do not want any of those silly dances you hear at sweet 16s... chachaslide, etc...

We also do not want any rap, or rock because we want the wedding to have a 1950's feel, (Although since our song is by bobmarley I think thatmay be a bit hard...lol)

We will be getting a singer during dinner also so people can enjoy dean martin/frank sinatra....

now, we just have to make an appt with fm entertainment to see if my date is open!

we are doing a DJ.

I don't want Any macarena/electric slide crap. I may make an exception for the conga, but only because I've never led a conga line and I figure as the bride I get to.

FH says the song 'My Sherona' is on the DO NOT PLAY list. We are going for a more 80's music feel, and he really hates that song.

PS- good luck with FM. I really liked them and will probably book them within the next few weeks.
